I'm all for it! :-,
The only drawback I can see is potential for confusion for prospective new
members; e.g. someone from the SLC, Utah area wouldn't necessarily know off
the bat that the newsgroup lugnet.org.us.wafol would be the place to look for
others in the area. But this is easily solved in two ways -- first to have
some descriptive text for the different groups at the
http://www.lugnet.com/org/us level (which there already is!) and second to
have folks such as myself watch the .loc.us.ut* heirarchies for new posters.
Um, in other words, I think it'll work great! :-,

| (...) Most likely people would be discovering these groups either from somewhere else already (word of mouth or other list/group), or from the /org/ or /loc/ area of the website...so in addition to folks such as yourself watching over the (...) (25 years ago, 23-Nov-99, to lugnet.org.us)

| Watching the recent discussions in lugnet.org and lugnet.org.us has been a lot of fun. The groups are serving their purpose well as venues for sharing ideas on formation and nurturing of regional user groups/clubs. But I think there is still much (...) (25 years ago, 23-Nov-99, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.general, lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.org, lugnet.org.us, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos, lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp, lugnet.loc.us.dc, lugnet.loc.us.ut.slc, lugnet.loc.us.wa, lugnet.loc.us.ga)
