1.  I hate you.

I can just feel the love in this room.

That may be the best thing you've ever said to me.

:)

I don't get why people think rtler's are mean to each other????

2.  this was the funniest thing I've seen posted in a very long time.

I don't even have a snazzy come back.  it was that funny.

I was considering posting a follow-up, about how you've been discovered, and now
have to spend all night, every night, for the rest of the week actually trying
to come up with a real robot...

naw. the robot is done. for the rest if the week I'm going to just program.

So, everything's great, except it can't actually sort...

Does that strike you as odd?

not at all. it all has to do with "chris logic"

I cant explain it to mere mortals like yourself.

The rules:
http://peach.mie.utoronto.ca/events/lego/lego-091303/

say:
"The goal of rtlToronto14 is to get to a box filled with uncooked rice and
search through the material to find and extract black 2x4 Lego blocks while
sorting out white 2x4 blocks."

And you claim your robot works fine, except it can't sort...

not anymore.  if you actually READ this NG, you'll have seen that I've already
posted how the "problem" has been solved.

I've retooled my EOAT, now I just need to tweak the code.

Steve i will have a robot for r14, unlike you, Bruce, Derek, Jeff (either).......

Next, I bet you'll claim to have solved this impossible problem.

you win.

BTW I gotta ask, exactly how much time did you spend researching all
those past NG messages??

About 2.5 hours.  None of it was company time.  Of course.

2.5 hours.

this is (using chris logic) a very nice compliment. think about it. I'm just some
normal (great) guy but people spend all this time talking about ~ me ~

like this:

http://news.lugnet.com/fun/?n=1128
http://news.lugnet.com/org/ca/rtltoronto/?n=9019 (which I'd point out is
HIGHLIGHTED)

and too many others to mention.

you yourself said this:

About 2.5 hours.  None of it was company time.  Of course.

so to me this sounds like you are willing to take almost three hours of your life,
(NOT on company time) to dedicate it to ME

I'm flattered.

And, if anyone is actually interested in entering the worlds biggest LEGO sumo
event; maybe you're busy the day of rtl 14, or maybe you just couldn't find a
way to get the blocks out of the rice: Ann Arbor is just a 5 hour drive from
Toronto.  As it turns out, it's also 5 hours from where I live.  So you really
can't use that as an excuse.

Steve

PS: you're welcome to send me your robot...  if you trust me with it.

Steve, this is completely against the charter of rtlToronto.  we are fairly lax
about what goes on here, BUT to try to garner support for your "little game" by
posting  about it  in RTL.... well, that's just lame.

shame on you.

you have your own NG to post about such things.

you don't see me or calum posting in the ann arbour news inviting people to Toronto.

Heck, I remember a few years ago, Calum got in poop, cause we would post toronto
specific announcement in .announce, until we were told to stop.  but all the other
NG could post similar items.

yep, its that same ol' double standard.

we follow all the "rules,"  we achieve success despite some peoples best efforts,
and when we cant be put down, you come along and try to ride our coat tails of fame.

for shame.

Chris

wow, that last paragraph made me sound all high and mighty.
