Thanks for asking.
But anyway I was thinking about train layouts. The one thing about
every train layout is that it is just a simple loop. So I was thinking
maybe its possible to do something different. This may or may not be
practical, but its an idea we could consider just to do something different.

The big problem with this is people that like to crash trains. The
easiest way to fix this is to have the engineers cooperate so this
doesn't happen. Or at least it doesn't happen for people who are not
interested in crash their trains.
Another way to resolve this is to make the crossing bridges. This could
be done in two ways. Both lines could be made to cross over together.
This would eliminate any chance of collision. Or the lines could be
woven over each other so they have a level crossing with themselfs, but
not with the other line. I think this would be the most interesting.
Basically one like would rise over the other line.
The problem of course is the long runs needed to get enough height to
make a track cross over with enough clearance. 2 plates per track
section makes for a long slope.
Another problem is the oddly shaped module needed. (Outlined in red).
However this modual could be eliminated and bridges could be used to
span the gap from the standard modules.
This would make for a unique layout if we wanted to go to the effort to
build it.

This means you could have 2 "towns" with the area in the middle as transition area.... a sort of "green space". I think the cross-overs would be somewhat (...) It also leaves room on either side of the track for switchyards, etc. I'd been fiddling around with the idea of making a layout for the next event, but my plan was to make (...)
