Robot Design Description: While working on None (V1.0), I observed
that blocks that weren't positioned properly sometimes just fell into
position when the board vibrated. Hmmm...  I thought. Why not just
build something that just vibrates the hell out of the board?? The is
a design that mounts the gripper on the base and moves the board.
The design is about 75% complete (after 5 days work - vs 5 months for
V1.0) I intentionally made this as ultra-simple as I could just as an
experiment to see what the absolute bare-minimum requirements are to
solve the problem. Hence, no sensors, just timing, guide rails, and a
rather clever application of a part I previously considered to be
completely useless. Only the Y axis needs to be timed, and once this
is done, accuracy becomes totally irrelevant. It's only major problem
remaining is that the conveyor that holds the blocks likes to turn
them over before spitting them out. Completion time (keeping in mind
that the blocks aren't always upright) is 14 seconds. Beats the hell
out of V1.0.

actually - I wasn't going for nostalgia on this one

I know its a little late, but here is the specs for my robot. By the way, I like recording all of the specs of each robot. Calum, can you post this info on the rtl site when the pictures go up? It would be neat to have a summary of the robots and (...) (23 years ago, 24-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

I'm getting curious about different peoples entries for rtl10 and though it would be cool if we did a robot roll call. I've come up with some categories below, feel free to add more. I'll replay to this message with my own details in a moment. Derek (...) (23 years ago, 20-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
