Sorry. I just wanted to bug you dual RCX users. I guess I succeeded in
bothering Bruce :) I wasn't trying to change the rules. I'm surprised Chris
didn't jump on this, since he is the one who said it :)

see, this is just the kind of mis-quoting that got me in trouble at U of
T and the stupid Varcity.  What kind of a "reporter" calls me at my home
@ 7am and asks questions about St. Mikes policy.  the best i did was
GRUNT... next day the papers quotes me as saying things that were just
plain un true.

papers next day--"Robot Making Man Says End of World is Near!!  Magno May
Wreak Mayhem with Machine!"

Back to Lego:

"In my mind a robot that needs 2 rcx to make one tower  is only half as

this is/was true for tower building.  NOW we are dealing with something
way more complex then a simple A C steering robot and a stacker.

Yeah, something waaay more complex than searching 64 square feet for blocks
and stacking them so they stand up by themselves... like moving blocks
around a 6 inch by 6 inch grid--real tough...

:)

I kind of guessed that it was my quote, But I just could not think of
anything witty to reply.  its hard always trying to come up with
something funny.

Hence "pretend this said something funny"?  You funny guy!

So as for my 3 RCX robot, I just want to point out that i am not using
EVERY port of all the bricks.    i am actually only using 5 outputs and
6 inputs.  It was just easier to divid the various robot chores into
separate bricks.

and I'm doing the *same* job with 3 inputs nad 3 outputs... so who's better?
And *if* I get mine to do it in a comparable time with comparable accuracy...

Mine is superior  Muuahahahahahaaaaaaaa!!!!

(whatever!)

I have a brick t pick
A brick to place
A brick to send out stray IR....

Ok, that part is a joke.  BUT have we figured out the IR issue??  Should
we post, or allot IR ranges to people???

Yeah, I need IR message 0-253 for mine.  You can use 254-255

If   EVERYONE  sends me (or calum) what you need in terms of IR info,
then maybe we can figure out ahead of time where conflicts might be.

Pretend this says something funny

After much codeing, and with 1 RCX, I have my 'bot doing anti-X in XX* seconds.

*blocked out for geo-political reasons (but is a good time... I *may* not be
first, but I'll be able to keep the rest of you on your toes, whilst
taunting you with the fact that I named that tune in 1 note (1 rcx--am I
dwelling on the idea of 1 rcx?)

I'm looking forward to Saturday.  Are we officially starting at 1 p.m.?  I
have a few people who want to attend the event and watch and I mentioned to
them that the actual competition starts at 1 p.m.

Shall I bring the LEGO Cam again and do the time lapse photography?

I'm enthused!!!

Stay safe

Dave

I was laughing very hard. :) (...) 64 square feet, is that why you named your robot run-amok. no control, no structure, just drive like a mad robot. do you find the skill needed in precise control, lacking?
