Don't you just LOVE Electrosonic? You should have checked out Sayal
Electronics while you were there. (S/E corner of the Victoria Park and
Gordon Baker Rd.) The are also a good source for parts in the area.
You could have just used a 7805 with a 2V zener in series with the
load or three silicon diodes, forward biased (2.1V).
Anyway, Texas Instruments parts, FYI:
Part Output Voltage Output Current Minimum Differential
TL782 2V +/-3% 1.5A 2.5V
TLSCSI285 2.85V +/-1% 620mA 0.6V
TL2217-285 2.85V +/-1.5% 500mA 1V
uA78L02 2.6V +/-10% 100mA 2V
uA78L02A 2.6V +/-5% 100mA 2V
