(who obviously doesn't care much about the quantity, but more about the
quality.) I think Lugnet.Technic has potential, and thats where the true
gearheads lurk, but the dumb Bionicle stuff is just overpowering that
group:( Posts like 'I got the new chichamuga pokahontas toruingas masks
today. They don't even resemble Lego, aren't they cool?' Okay, enough
venting for now.

I wish a moment of Zen for Rob.

Ommmmmmmmmmm.....

There, found my center, life can go on ;)

Having not even seen a Bionicle (besides pics...) I'd have to say 'whatever'

It's like Paradisa--Pink LEGO?  Are they kidding??

But for some (looks sideways at Ben) Pink LEGO makes for great towns.

So to each his (or her) own...

I personally was a space cadet (classic space, mtron, etc)

then i was a 'gearhead' w/ mindstorms...

now I like trains, too.

It's a pluralistic society, and LEGO fits right into pluralism--people can
express themselves with LEGO when and how they please.

LEGO also 'evolves' with a person, not only a la Duplo and up as you grow
from an infant, but even as an adult, you get to explore different avenues
of who you are, what you like (or dislike) and where you want to go.

For me, LEGO has a pretty close relationship with who I am.  My Christianity
is my foundation, but LEGO can be an expression of my foundation, my
temperment, my creativity, et. al.

Oh there's a whole thing here dealing with my life with these little pieces
of ABS.

I cannot be angry with anyone who chooses to express themselves with LEGO in
a way that I wouldn't.  I mean--trains were 'out there' for me until Calum.

Mayhaps these kids, introduced to Bionicle, will evolve into 'real' technic'.

My only issue is I want TLC to put out better (read not juniourized) sets
for the AFOL.  The reintroduction of 'classics' is a small start, but who
here wouldn't want to get their hands on the first supercar, just for 1x16
thechnic beams (always running out of those)

This has gon on waaay to long.

Stay safe all.

Dave

(...) I too felt the anger in his words… Perhaps his chi is unbalanced, so much annoyance towards little ABS bricks? Let us all learn to love and respect the varying Lego themes. For each set offers its own unique elements that adds to creativity on (...) (23 years ago, 10-Oct-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Sure, but how many of those posts were quality information about gears and robots? How much of the posts were really inspiring? How (...) (23 years ago, 10-Oct-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
