so......no other restrictions other than the 'must fit between the

Well, I can't really think of anything that would really need regulation.
Weight...well, there's only so much you can make out of Lego.  You can make it a
game of Sumo if you want, you can try something altogether crazy and do something
else.

My personal desire for this contest is to see a wide range of strategies tried.
I know 50%-75% will be sumo like robots.  But I think there are a number of
novel approaches here.

Actually, re-reading this, I do have one change to suggest, that should make it a
tiny bit more interesting to watch.

If the robots start (as listed) side-by-side, they will move, what about 1 inch
before they run into each other.  Then, they just start a painful-to-watch pushing
match.

On the other hand, if they are started behind the line, they'll be able to race a
combined two feet, before they smash into each other.

Speed would be good, because then your opponent has an uphill battle.  Power would
be good, because then you can fight that uphill battle.

The battle would be won or lost at the moment of impact...

ah, just a thought

Steve

(...) Your comment makes sense. We were talking about it and Derek suggested we start everyone at the edges of the beam. So you start at a 12" marker from the edge. If no one has any objections, I'll change it tonight. Calum (19 years ago, 25-Jul-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
