  Re: Segway HT and Roomba

(...) I think that Chris needed a better Labour Dabour weekend! If he had mine, he'd be all nice and relaxed, and mellow.... But no, now he has visions of Calum with bright pink hair all frizzed out! Get yer cooler and sit in a field making fun of (...) (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Pipe Racers

(...) All I had to show for this contest was 4 broken Flex Axles, or Flaxles as they are somethimes known. I hope to do better for pipe racers pro. I haven't been able to put effort into a robot in a while. I want to show up with a working design (...) (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Segway HT and Roomba

(...) Now you've done it. We'll have to get Greg to do a pic of a Calum Troll. Like the regular Calum, but grouchier :) Jeff E (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Pipe Racers

(...) The robot on the left was mine, and on the right was John G. Those two ended up first and second. My robot was able to go down the pipe much faster than it went up, because one of the wheels was designed to disengage from the pipe when the (...)   Re: 486-33 8Mb

(...) Agreed with the latter but it doesn't include me. I don't know any complex commands, it's all just notepaded and using the basic tags. I disguise that fact by eliminating capitals and fooling people into thinking it's because it's "chic". So I (...) (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: 486-33 8Mb

(...) I didn't think it was your intent, honest! I just like saying "You say that like it's a BAD THING." and I don't get nearly enough chances to say it so if it seems even *remotely* applicable... out it comes. I have to say I learned a lot about (...) (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: 486-33 8Mb

(...) It was honestly and truly not my intent at all to come off that way. I think Calum knows (heck, we were talking about it while *on* Drop of Fear at the CNE) that I apprecieate his method of presentation! Iain (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: 486-33 8Mb

(...) You say that like it's a BAD THING. Me, I get a kick out of reading Calum's stuff, it's very witty in a dry way. And you can always use another recipe for LMP, trust me. (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: 486-33 8Mb

  Re: Pipe Racers

  Pipe Racers

For those who didn't make it to Brickfest (and those who missed Pipe Racers) I finally got a short video clip posted on Brickshelf. Unfortunately, there was some fear that the pipe could separate, so there is a "robot catcher" directly in front of (...) (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: 486-33 8Mb

(...) Bored. Bored! Linux Router Project (LRP) will run on it just fine. And a 486 will route packets using NAT just fine. I used to run a 486/66 with Nevod NAT1000 and Windows95 with like 5% CPU overhead and near complete saturation on my cable (...) (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: 486-33 8Mb

(...) Yup. It's tough to get rid of machines. Several charities refuse to take anything less than P54C/P55C class (ie, second generation Pentium 90-233) and about the only way you'll get someone to take a 486 is if you go and set it up at their (...)   Re: 486-33 8Mb

  Re: 486-33 8Mb

(...) Sorry man, but if I can't find any use for it, no school or charity is going to. It will cost them more money to dispose of it then it will do any good. I mean this this was state of the art more then 10 years ago. I think I actually got Win95 (...) (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Starting a Robotics Club at a University

I encourage you to give it a try, it's a lot of fun and a truly rewarding experience.* I will be putting up the slides from the presentation soon, the presentation files are on my machine at work, so I can't upload them now.
