  Re: What's your Favourite Train?

(...) ...but the TGV-Atlantique's nose didn't change from the original orange trains! :) The nose is so cute! It's like, "Hullo!". I like airplanes because they look like they are alive. I always pet them afterword and thank them for a nice flight. (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: What's your Favourite Train?

(...) Real trains? PBKA Thalys, Acela Express, Transrapid06 (olive green scheme). I like the Atlantique colour scheme, but not the nose design. Calum (22 years ago, 26-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Looking for Robotics Mentor in Hamilton Area

Hi folks, We often get requests for mentors, judges and the like from people who wander by the rtlToronto site.   What's your Favourite Train?

So yeah. I think mine is the TGV Atlantique, I've always been drawn to it even as a kid. I really like Transrapid (in the original colour scheme the 07 ran at in Emsland at the TVE, as Europa) but the Shanghai line is so short. Out of the trains (...)   Re: Where to get the 8466 in southern ontario???

As of last weekend (Mar. 23), Toy R Us in Whitby, Ontario (Thickson Rd and Hwy 2 aka Dundas St.) had a couple there. I'd definately call ahead tho'. Being TRU, it was of course at full price. Cheers, -Gil (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Where to get the 8466 in southern ontario???

(...) Yes I'm pretty sure they had a stack of them. Can't remember the price though. There is also the Toy Shoppe in London. They might have them, but it will be expensive compared to other places. The store keeps moving, but its somewhere in the (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Where to get the 8466 in southern ontario???

(...) I was at the cookstown Bricks and blocks on the weekend and they had them there... The price was slightly reduced (I think 169 instead of 189) but don't quote me. Jeff VW (22 years ago, 26-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Where to get the 8466 in southern ontario???

(...) If you guys are talking about the Off Road 4x4 thingie, they had those at the Toys R Us in Kitchener as well (corner of Fairway and... Manitou, I think... it's in the same complex as the Play It Again Sports by Fairview Mall) but it was like (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Where to get the 8466 in southern ontario???

(...) Toy Planet Outlet has it at Dixie Value Mall (Dixie Road and 401, Mississauga) and I think they were. Damn, I can't remember. Derek might-I think we saw them like two weekends ago. Toys R Us at Highway 400 and 7 has two as of last night, but (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Where to get the 8466 in southern ontario???

(...) Gerard, Have you tried calling "Bricks and Blocks" in St. Jacob's? (519-746-5346) It's the only place in this area I can think of, beyond those you have already mentioned. Good luck!   Where to get the 8466 in southern ontario???

I am looking at getting the 8466 off roader set, but so far i have been unable to locate it. I have been to the toysrus on wellington in London, 2 wallmarts, 1 sears, 2 zellers and costco. They all had some lego, but not many had "old style" technic (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Steadicam Workshop Demo

(...) I disagree--perhaps this is the case for theatre, but defintely not for film. DP's and directors tend to be very specific with how they're going to do a shot. Sure, they're constrained by number of shooting days or other logistics (ie, can't (...) (22 years ago, 25-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Steadicam Workshop Demo

(...) Years ago when I did tech for live theatre we used to come up with BS scenarios to explain why a scene was lit the way it was.   Re: Steadicam Workshop Demo

(...) Movement is one of those things that defines the style and storytelling of a dramatic production. For example, to show how hectic a modern emergency room is, ER uses the Steadicam almost in every shot. That motion defines the show-you wouldn't (...)   Re: Steadicam Workshop Demo

(...) Funny how they're now introducing techniques to put the motion *back in* to the scenes in several shows. NYPD blue was the first i saw to do this, and it *really* annoys me. ROSCO (22 years ago, 25-Mar-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
