  Re: Pole-Balancing Robot

(...) And for an even bigger challenge, allow the pole to tilt in both X & Z directions! ROSCO (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Pole-Balancing Robot

(...) That's really cool! The video rocked--it's really quite nifty to see a robot trying to adapt in realtime to its situation. Iain suggested we do something like this for rtl13. Though that is a while off (we still have 11 and 12 on deck for the (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.robotics)

  Pole-Balancing Robot

While I know a few other people have done this before (even though I can't find anything online!), this is new to me. But I thought I'd give it a go anyway. This is my first attempt at doing a "pole-balancing" robot. It's hard! Suposedly there are (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Decisions Decisions...

(...) "Yeah....I've got these 2 nifty Town Light & Sound sets with Micromotors in them...one of them even has a polarity switch...." (120 Loonies later.....ouch, if you factor in the RIS 1.0 via E-bay...) ooops....sorry for sharing that story... :) (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Rob's Smart

well, I cleared off my lego area, and after a long time absence with the Brick, and some inspiration from the last dinner I went and built Rob's Secret one motor 2 output device. Sure, my version is kind of crude. BUT it is a first attempt. this is (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Decisions Decisions...

(...) See, EVEN that is not going to help. some members of our group will happily sell you lego right over the table. "....PPStt Wanna buy some lego. MISB......   Re: Decisions Decisions...

Hey, I could drive right by a TRU if I wanted too. I don't have to stop in to every store just to check out the bargains. Of course I never actually buy anything unless it's on some kind of a discount or unless I really need it ;) You guys are bad! (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Decisions Decisions...

(...) rtlToronto is probably the worst case scenario for a Lego addict. Imagine a group where people got together on a regular basis and strongly recommended their alcoholics to keep drinking? Nowhere would you ever see a situation like: Dave: Guys, (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Decisions Decisions...

(...) Yeah, the budget is blown out of the water... Sears had the 4x4 for 100, HP castle for 100, so that's 200 bones there... Then I ordered the Super Car from S@H, so that's 129 American plus shipping. Thank goodness the credit card's cleared... (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Puck!

(...) Just one. BTW for those building, we're not allowed to pick up the puck. It has to be hit--sort of like real hockey players aren't allowed to grab the puck and carry it along with them. Calum (22 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Puck!

For Live 1 is the puck going to be made of one wheel hub or two. I remember discussing this, but I can't remember the decision. The design of my hockey stick is kind of dependent on this. Derek (22 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Decisions Decisions...

(...) Thanks for checking, Iain. But seriously. No Supercar (853, 8865, 8880, 8448, 8466 etc) is complete without a Scala (Scal-la la la!) doll like Olivia! You MUST HAVE A SCALA DOLL IN YOUR TECHNIC CAR. (...) I'm a sucker for good Lego deals, (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Decisions Decisions...
