A major concern: Where to find basic bricks?

Something struck me as a big problem with Lego lately while building part of my train station today-we don't have a good source of basic 1x and 2x bricks anymore. I've got like six unopened 3033's left, but after that...does this concern anyone (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Mmmmmm RCX 1.0

(...) Hmmmm....yes. Exactly. Performance wise, all are similar....and capable of handling the RIS 2.0 firmware, and using the USB technology (through the USB tower)..... but 1.0 saves on batteries...yes...through its AC connector. this is really (...)   Re: Mmmmmm RCX 1.0

(...) The 2.0 brick is no different than the 1.0 or 1.5 brick apart from the AC connector. 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 all can run the 2.0 Firmware, and all can talk to the USB IR tower. There is no advantage to buying a 2.0 RCX brick at all, and the only (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Mmmmmm RCX 1.0

(...) So Do I....I think the 1.0's are very versatile. Congrats on your cool purchase and receipt. Personally, I wouldn't mind a 2.0 also so I can use the upgraded firmware and the USB connectivity. (22 years ago, 18-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlLive1 help?

(...) Yes. Programming a BBRC robot, while tedious, isn't hard at all. (...) Just build them. I'll bring a pair as well, and hopefully others will bring several more. (...) Sounds like a good plan-I have to go steal a USB compatible notebook now. :) (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Thinking about train stations

Cool, I like your preliminary design ideas. If you're going to go ahead with a train station, then I'm going to dismantle mine. I don't really like it in its current state, I never got to add any detail to it, and it's just taking up to much space (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  rtlLive1 help?

(don't you hate it when your email client crashs just as you send a message) I was wondering if we are going to have the same programing and testing time we usually do at the beginning of this event? I don't have a lot of free time in the next two (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Mmmmmm RCX 1.0

In prose referenced from a lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto post, Benjamin Medinets writes: (about Iain) "he’s happy from his *daily* fix at PCW " Is that true, Iain? You go to PCW *every* *day*? That is SO COOL if true. I am hoping to squeeze out a trip to (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Thinking about train stations

I've spent several hours lately reviewing some of the Lego train stations out there. They are simply amazing! After getting an idea of the scope of such a project, I've realized the projects you see on Brickshelf are nothing short of fantastic, (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: jungle set with Achoo (and his head-piece)...

(...) Don't forget the baseplate from the Rock Raider's HQ -- it is the same shape and the baseplate I chose when I built something like Leo's castle.   jungle set with Achoo (and his head-piece)...

This post is for Richard. He and I were having a discussion on whether or not I could realistically build Leo's Castle (which I won't do, due to certain design flaws and nasty use of juniorization), and I told him I even have a base for it, if (...)
