  Re: Lets move on...

(...) Ouch. Sore spot. But let me clarify: This was not 'several' times, but only one time. This happened at rtl7, thats it. Thats all you get. So, who wants to do blockstacking again? Rob (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: too much lube......

(...) I'm not the founder of TexLUG. I just help organize meetings ;-) (...) If anyone (Lugnet member or not) has good ideas about, or experiences with, lubricating Lego parts, the Technic curator will be interested! Useful information will be added (...)   Re: differance between....

(...) The best part of the Controlled events is there's almost no programming! (...) I don't know. But bring it anyways. The reason why I'm doing 10.1 is because we're going to use it instead of the usual academic debate we have online. Let's see (...) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: too much lube......

(...) yup....that was probably posted by Thomas Avery (founder of TexLUG and the current "lugnet admin blessed" Technic Curator). Looks like our (rtlToronto's) own Derek (Raycraft) and Iain (Hendry) got their newspostings in there....and they aren't (...) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  too much lube......

I just read in the .techinc about someone who mentioned a lego techinc lube FAQ. I did some digging and look what i found..... (URL) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: differance between....

(...) I don't think so....on Friday when you see what I did....the ball slips out anyways because of the friction on the ball....it can come out pretty easy... I don't think it comes out easy when the 'bot turns, just when the bot is going really (...) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  differance between....

OK, i just slapped together a bot. it will not have any code. it is just an A/C steer robot. for the code I will wait for Bruce to come up with something extraordinary. I will now HOLD my breath. While i am slowly turning blue, I have a question. in (...) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

How the heck do you build a good caster?

I remember this coming up as one of the harder problems for building a mobile robot. Anyone got any tried and true ideas for I resort to the age old kBot9000 design of putting a friction pad underneath? :) Calum (23 years ago, 5-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto 10.1 Experiments

(...) Yeah, I'll go take a look at the IR tower schematic and build a splitter. I have a suspicion it's pretty easy. Calum (23 years ago, 5-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  rtlToronto 10.1 Experiments

First: Yes, I do know how to spell "unofficial." Ew. Last night my friend Jeremy and I spent a couple of hours putting together some sample robots. We bought a cheap Gravis "Tilt" gamepad, which worked readily and perfectly with the BattleBricks (...) (23 years ago, 5-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto 10.1

(...) omgoodness!! I laughed out loud when I saw that one!!! Everybody did the 'prairie dog-in-cubicleville' wondering what i was laughing at. Nicely done Jeff Dave (23 years ago, 5-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  rtlToronto 10.1

Hmm. Well, it's only a few days to this (unofficial) event, AND WE DON'T HAVE A POSTER! Eep. So here's an (unoficcial) stab at one. Don't put this up in your cubicle - we don't want rugrats showing up ;) (URL) - if you want the original images, I (...) (23 years ago, 5-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Beyond the Library: rtl11? (Racing to Oblivion/Crushed to Oblivion)

(...) I had an idea last week (i actually did! honest!) but the post got lost somewhere... We take the gray tables, collapse the legs, put them on the floor (gray side up, of course). We can then organize the tables in a 'maze like' fashion, like an (...) (23 years ago, 5-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Beyond the Library: rtl11? (Racing to Oblivion/Crushed to Oblivion)

(...) It'll be like that scene in Toy Story. Man, those movies scare me. Especially that kid who mangles his toys next door. Calum (23 years ago, 5-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

This is the most hilariously cute thing I've ever read

You really got to read this English translation of the German Space Factory out: (URL) it with the photos in a second window. It's truly one of the funniest things I've ever seen here, and of course, the actual building is nothing short of amazing (...) (23 years ago, 5-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Beyond the Library: rtl11? (Racing to Oblivion/Crushed to Oblivion)

(...) Hey, that's another good idea for the drag racers. Find a non-busy sidewalk near a very busy street, and run the racers so they have to stop before rushing out into the street! Racing to oblivion/Crushed to oblivion! Now THERE's incentive to (...) (23 years ago, 5-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
