(...) Excellent news Dave, thanks for taking care of this. Looking forward to seeing you again. Just as a side note, not sure if I will be bringing my dollhouse, as I have had an offer to purchase it. I will bring something for display tho, (...)   Re: {rtlToronto 21} Tug 'O War

(...) At first look I thought this will be similar to the "Balance of Power" competition, didn't make me too crazy about it, but then I got to the part about the robots not holding on to the rope before the competition start and that made it really (...)   Re: R21 - Tug of war ??

(...) Why not? It seems like it would make all of the events more popular. Do you think it would take anything away from any of the events? (...) We've just been throwing around ideas for BrickFest events. The rules Dave posted actually sound pretty (...) (19 years ago, 20-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: {rtlToronto 21} Tug 'O War

(...) No, thin and flexible is good in my view--easier for people to build something to grip the rope. Spec'ing Crappy tire is fine by me--basically everyone has a Can Tire near them, so this should make it easier than to get them from Chris. I'd (...)   Re: {rtlToronto 21} Tug 'O War

(...) Any thoughts on the actual rope? We were discussing something commonly/easily available (unlike the sash cord :) Something like (URL) Canadian Tire - 50 ft of 5/16" rope for ~$10. Is that too thin/flexible? Is a thicker/stiffer rope desired? (...) (19 years ago, 20-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: R21 - Tug of war ??

(...) Wow, it's like I logged into lugnet.org.us.somegu...inindiana* :) I'm not really sure where we are on this one, other than we know we're starting a contest up here. As for unifying a ruleset for Brickfest, I'm not really that crazy about it, (...) (19 years ago, 20-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: R21 - Tug of war ??

(...) My idea was to have teams of 3 or so robots, one of which could be an "anchor" robot (be allowed a firm connection of some type to the edge of the the table). But I admit, I only really liked this because of the possibility of one team (...) (19 years ago, 20-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  {rtlToronto 21} Tug 'O War

('cause I can't use the square brackets, and besides, it's still tentative...) After many great ideas were thrown around, we decided to go with somethign that's visually exciting for the audience-- RCX Tug 'O War... The tentative rulesets thus far (...)   Re: R21 - Tug of war ??

(...) Chris, Funny you should bring this up. We were just talking about doing this (A) at BrickFest and (B) at our club (LafLRC). It would be really cool if we could come up with a common set of rules, then we could have events within our clubs, and (...) (19 years ago, 20-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
