  Re: Got balls? Heads up.

(...) Oh, that would be a cool module, in addition to a ball counter. How would you display the time? Is there a way to do it besides using the RCX display? You could use the Red ball that always got stuck in your ball sorter at BrickFest... Steve (19 years ago, 15-Dec-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Got balls? Heads up.

(...) That was my intention. Since the Horta eggs are slightly bigger, droping the balls onto twoproperly spaced parallel rails should work: soccer balls fall between the rails, while the horta eggs roll down the rails and back into the module.   Re: Got balls? Heads up.

(...) Actually, it would be kind of cool to have a module that just circulates the eggs & balls, but only passes the balls forward. No one else has to deal with them, as long as you don't let them out. Sort of like this module (from Brian Davis): (...) (19 years ago, 15-Dec-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Got balls? Heads up.

(...) Janey, thanks for playing with these new balls and telling us all about them. Brian, if you wanted to make a module that passes soccer, but retains horta eggs, then you would need to make EVERY module be able to deal with both sized balls. (...)   Re: Got balls? Heads up.

(...) If you don't like the black and white color scheme, just wait - we're finding the black is wearing off fairly fast :-) (...) Wild. They look like the LEGO version of Horta eggs. (...) Thanks for the heads-up, but now I'm interested in them as (...) (19 years ago, 15-Dec-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

  Re: Got balls? Heads up.

(...) ... (...) Janey, I know what you mean about soccer balls moving around. At the last train show, a few people were talking about the "soccer ball factory". We may go that direction next time. I'm sure painting them won't work. I think LEGO did (...) (19 years ago, 15-Dec-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Got balls? Heads up.

After seeing the great ball moving into more and more train layouts... the "soccer" balls, seem a bit .... uh "strange" for lack of a better word. After a bit of group discussion, I was looking for a Lego substitute... Technic Ball Joints? Black or (...) (19 years ago, 15-Dec-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

Re: All those contests we never ended up doing...

(...) The axil sorter looks very interesting, might be a little hard to do, but could be a good challange. The hockey game could be fun with the 8475 remotes. (19 years ago, 13-Dec-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

All those contests we never ended up doing...

A comment recently made me think about the contests we've really wanted to do, but had to cancel due to lack of interest, technical feasibility, or whatever other reason: (URL) I drew up some of them, in case someone might be inspired to do them (...)   Re: [rtlToronto] rtlToronto20 Near Final Ruleset

(...) So, if I get rid of all fixed width elements, this would allow you to print better? (...) Okay, so I pulled that out...does it work for you now? Calum (19 years ago, 13-Dec-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: [rtlToronto] rtlToronto20 Near Final Ruleset

(...) The colour of the wall can be any colour you want. There is a "guideline" that suggests a white wall will help with robot identification, but my tests have shown that the only thing the light sensor sees is the actual light. If you feel a (...)   Re: [rtlToronto] rtlToronto20 Near Final Ruleset

(...) Hey Guys, I have a question. Would it not be better to make the collector wall (eg. black) to make the light stand out rather then white? Vitali (19 years ago, 13-Dec-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: [rtlToronto] rtlToronto20 Near Final Ruleset

(...) Well.... you have discovered one of the significant weaknesses of CSS based layouts. The lack of true separation between content and presentation. Because you are using fixed width DIV's, when printing them the fixed width is respected. i.e. (...) (19 years ago, 12-Dec-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: [rtlToronto] rtlToronto20 Near Final Ruleset

(...) Actually, I use Dreamweaver MX, the tag is a leftover from when I used to use FPE, which, despite it's reputation, actually output some pretty clean HTML. What I'll ask you to do, is to give me a reformatted version of the existing rulepage, (...) (19 years ago, 12-Dec-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: [rtlToronto] rtlToronto20 Near Final Ruleset

(...) duh :) I do know how to print. The rules pages are always a major pain though, as the text always gets clipped off no matter how I scale it. Some of the formatting that works on the screen fails when rendering for the printer. Reading Calum's (...) (19 years ago, 12-Dec-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: [rtlToronto] rtlToronto20 Near Final Ruleset

(...) The text prints okay as Landscape 8.5x11 on IE. The large drawings flop either or onto each page, but the width keeps the onscreen formatting. I've actually been considering going to an all Acrobat rule format and laying out the pages in (...) (19 years ago, 12-Dec-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: [rtlToronto] rtlToronto20 Near Final Ruleset

(...) Calum, Thank you for maintaining the web page, and doing the required updates. Rob, why do you need to print it? I have it memorized. If you do really need to print it, I guess you can use the "print" button in your browser, OR, try File Page (...) (19 years ago, 12-Dec-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
