  Re: Along with everything else...

(...) I know this would take a little bit more work, but what about a simple maze that 'bots could just go though? Then it's something that could just be 'on' all the time, or most of the time, and it's interesting. Navigating a maze is something (...) (19 years ago, 24-Sep-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Along with everything else...

I was thinking for the hobby show, since we're having many wonderful yet pretty much 'static' displays, that we might want to add to it... Such as, say.... SUNDAY!!! SUNDAY!!! SOMEDAY!!!! EXTREMECROSS 2!!!!!!! (VROOM!!!) (VROOOMMM!!!) How 'bout I (...) (19 years ago, 24-Sep-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: rtl 20 - mating rules

(...) WHY? at max, 10 robots at 12" will only ever fill at MAX, all lined up in a row, just over 1/10th of the play area. thats TONS of room. no. i think we can leave it at 12" knowing that only you and Steve will build to the full 12" (...) i think (...)   Re: rtl 20 - mating rules

(...) If we can maybe think about limiting the size to 10 x 10 x 10, or even 8x8x8 (though that might be tough), there'd be much more room on the playfield. Though if the 'bots are 12x12x12, we'd just have less 'bots at one time--smaller orgy... So (...) (19 years ago, 23-Sep-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: rtl 20 - mating rules

(...) Agreed. Play it by ear. Maybe have a couple of rounds, with increasing number of bots in the field? (...) Let's say I build 2 robots, and they are designed to find/mate with each other easily. So they mate. And have a smoke afterwards. But (...) (19 years ago, 23-Sep-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: rtl 20 - mating rules

(...) I guess it comes down to what's more important, the competition or getting together to watch robots mate. Without even considering bots working together, a game where dumb luck is important, running more then one bot definitely increases your (...) (19 years ago, 23-Sep-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: rtl 20 - mating rules

(...) 10 was just a number. we can change it on the day (...) my GUT FEEL on this is: it allows someone to make and test a robot that is best suited to mate with the second (or third) robot entered thus giving them an advantage i can be convinced (...) (...) Sure (...) Sure (...) Sure (...) Hmm, this might be a little cramped. Lined up perfectly the robots take 1/6 the total play area.
