  Re: C$ - Code Only

(...) NQC compiles not quite C code into LEGO firmware opcodes. You download the .rcx result, and LEGO firmware interprets the program. This makes it slow. QuiteC and brickOS both use H8 native C compilers that spit out H8 assembly code directly. (...) (21 years ago, 6-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: Elevations for Train 6

(...) Is there also a latest rendition of the overall layout? Jeff gave me a sheet at dinner last month but a) din't have it still, and b) has it changed? Are we still doing the 'perimeter modules' encompassing a seating area? The show organizers (...) (21 years ago, 6-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: C$ - Code Only

(...) Forgive a clueless question here, but is QuiteC different than NotQuiteC? If so where can I learn more about it? Thanks! The oldest mention of the term "QuiteC" I could find on LUGNET was only 3 weeks ago but MAYBE I'm searching wrong? see (...)   Re: C$ - Code Only

(...) Steve, One of the thing I noticed when working on the book generation code, there are typically multiple unique drop sequences that get you to the same board state, even when just picking the best hypothetical moves. In an RCX environment that (...) (21 years ago, 6-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Elevations for Train 6

(...) I'm thinking that depending on your purity level, because the battery is stationary, it's feasible to do a battery replacement thing where you supply 9V DC to the battery box via contacts that "look" like a battery but have a wire coming out (...)   Re: C$ - Code Only

(...) Folks who read rtlToronto can skip this part. I added it because I'm cross posting to robotics.rcx. For those who don't know, rtlToronto had a contest with robots playing Connect Four. Creating a robot for this is double faceted. Getting (...) (21 years ago, 6-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Elevations for Train 6

(...) I do plan to get one of these sets eventually. Looks like fun on it's own. I don't know if it would have enough power to pull much of a train though. It's worth experimenting with once I get one. Still battery powered though, so I wouldn't (...) (21 years ago, 6-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Elevations for Train 6

(...) Have you thought about using the racer unit itself for power? the newest racers track has a capacitator based rechargable vehicle. I have a copy of the set but haven't had time to play with it in depth yet. What I was thinking was that if that (...) (21 years ago, 6-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Rope Details

Calum, and I have been aware of the rope game, and have always wanted to do one. this seemed like the perfect time to give it a try. we have slightly modified our (temp) rules to make it that much more of a challange. - we will be starting from a (...)   Rope Details

I'm not sure if you guys have all the details worked out for the rope event, but if you need some help, here's what SMART did, when they ran that event last year. (URL) (21 years ago, 6-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: C$ - Code Only

(...) Kevin, I really didn't plan on having a "contest". Sorry if I misled you. I know several people have code, and they wanted to know how it stacks up against other people's code. I'm just trying to set-up a format in which they can do that. So (...) (21 years ago, 6-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Elevations for Train 6

(...) Yep, I'm working on a prototype right now. It's a little boxy, but it works, and barely fits under that top rail. Runs on a 9V battery, so we'll just let it run around until the battery runs out. Derek (21 years ago, 6-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

David Koudys- This lego technic crane you have posted on your message, when I click the link, I am taken to a blank screen (It's a brickshelf page, but there is no picture). Have I done something wrong? (21 years ago, 6-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Elevations for Train 6

Here is an image with the elevations for the Train 6 layout. (URL) is only the positive elevations. We still need to figure out the negative elevation. However it will likely be around -20 Brick to the valley floor. Next I'll model instructions on (...) (21 years ago, 5-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
