Re: stop when it isn't fun anymore

(...) Works well with 3 bricks vertical offset, 1 stud horizontal. There is also 12 + 24, but that suffers from a similar problem. The best I can come up with is 1 brick vertical, 2 studs horizontal, but there's a little too much play. (...) No, (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Sadly I don't think you can run a chain over the 20 tooth gears, if they're the ones I'm thinking of. :( Also, you can't mount them and (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: stop when it isn't fun anymore

(...) Hmm... What if you did it with a 40 and 20? The spacing would be... wierd... 3 1/4 studs or something? You'd have to do it vertically, I guess, to get half of a half. (21 years ago, 2-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) like (...) to (...) Lego. I didn't have the heart to tell anyone that the reason our AS 206 SP machine has a 3:2 ratio is beacuse of the 24:16 tooth gears used on the original LEGO model. (...) I know, I know. I really don't see the point in this though. (...) Sure, and I did. But there is nothing terribly interesting about the mechanics of a connect four robot anyway. I had a wild idea to make a rotary arm like Iain's viper to scan (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: stop when it isn't fun anymore

(...) I'm under the impression that most of the bots will be pretty similar in terms of hardware. Seems kind of pointless to build and not code. On that note, I completely rebuilt the top half of my bot the other day and got my 'worst case' scan (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jan-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

yeah you! All you rtl'ers and lurkers thereof... Have a happy and safe New Years Eve and I'll see y'all in 2004.   stop when it isn't fun anymore

...That is what I decided to do. I just couldn't get into this connect four thing. I had the beginnings of my code written, but did not have the skills or the motivation to learn how to code alpha beta junk. I had the robot maybe 75% built, but I (...)
