When I searched for the camera you mentioned, I came across a page
talking about 192mb and 640mb compactflash units. (no mention of price
of course).  Slap one of those 640mb puppies in the D700... drool.
As far as that goes, you could carry a pocket full of the 64mb chips.
(come on Mike, buy one, buy several) No I don't work for Sony or Sandisk,
why do you ask?   :?)

Heh, I have a single 20mb CF card right now.  I'd probably want a
minimum of 2 of the 64mb cards to feel comfortable if I was bringing
a Libretto along with me...

Does the Libretto have a PCMCIA slot?  The D700 has a PCMCIA slot and
an adapter to translate the form factor of the compactflash chip to PCMCIA.

Yeah, the one I had in my office had either 1 or 2 PCMCIA slots in
the unit itself and with the port replicator we had for it that
added just a tiny bit to the size had at least two more.  Been
almost a year since I've really played with it.

(It also has a proprietary SONY memory stick slot.  I don't think I even
bothered
to check to see if the 8mb stick that came with the camera worked).
When I need to take lots of pics (away from school) I just take the laptop
with
me. (fill the chip, swap in the chip from my dc120 and slip the "exposed"
one
into the laptop. lather... rinse... repeat...)

Yep, that's what I'd want to do with the Libretto.  I could carry my
laptop with me, but even though my Tecra 8000 is a little lighter
than previous incarnations, it still isn't what I would call a light
machine - certainly not something I want to lug around with me all
day.
