(...) why do you need traces from lugnet to wherever? the jump.cgi doesn't get the data for you, it just redirects you to your desination... so the connection speed between lugnet and your target is immaterial. btw, if you want to try another host, (...) Just as a follow up: I noticed that in Lar's traceroutes, the suck on cais.net happened after a Mae-East router. So, in the spirit of enlightened experimentation.... Hmmm, I'm using OE 5.02 for Mac, and my post shows up as a new thread. Maybe the PC version puts it into the old thread if it has the same name? Took it long enough, but as of day before yesterday I actually have ADSL. Getting pretty good speeds, probably because I'm a little more than a stone's throw from the phone company's remote DSLAM.
