Took it long enough, but as of day before yesterday I actually have ADSL.
Getting pretty good speeds, probably because I'm a little more than a
stone's throw from the phone company's remote DSLAM.  Kinda cool browsing
the web at home and having pages pop up instantly like they used to at work
before we wired the dorms.

I've got all my machines hanging off a Linksys DSL router (or off a 5 port
switch coming off one of its ports), all of them with fake IP's and sharing
the router's real IP through the wonders of NAT.

I'm playing with ZoneAlarm on a couple of my machines right now - kinda
wondering what other people are doing, if anything, to try to beef up
security on their Windows boxes at home?

(...) the only thing we use (though I do like ZA) is a linux firewall, that does the NAT for us as well... (24 years ago, 30-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
