| We're looking to update the kids console for Christmas, so it's either a PS2 or an X-Box. Anyone have any opinions either way? We had a PS1 for a long time, so I'm more inclined to keep with it (plus the backward compatability). While I do (...) (21 years ago, 19-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

| Wayne, We too had the PS1. We opted for the xBox for several reasons........ 1. The xBox 'appeared' to have better graphics. 2. It HAS a hard drive built in, the PS2 does not. | (...) Unless you're interested in the Xbox exclusive games (like Halo) I'd go with a PS2 myself, as it has a much wider selection of games. | X box if you want the 'cool factor' of a couple of games, and if you want a console that looks like a Reebok step and sounds like a hovercraft. PS2 has lots of games some good, some dire - bit like the PS1, and Sony are pretty top (I was a big PS1 (...) (21 years ago, 22-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

| (...) If it was for me, I'd get the X-Box. The PS2 has a broader game selection, but the X-Box is a more advanced system and it shows on the user level. | (...) Oh I forgot about Viewtiful Joe! That is such a cool looking game. As for the zelda titles, and mario titles, the old ones look/run perfect on my pc with ROMs and Emulators.
