Unless you're interested in the Xbox exclusive games (like Halo) I'd go with a
PS2 myself, as it has a much wider selection of games. Sure, the graphics
quality on the Xbox is better than that of the PS2, but it's not enough to
offset the game selection. Of course, depending on how old your kids are, they
might appreciate a Gamecube for the Mario titles, and Gamecubes are brutally
cheap right now (in fact, I just picked one of them up for myself)
