I can't remember for sure if it's completely sterile, but I do remember hearing that it's by far the most sterile bodily fluid. But it doesn't make it any less objectionable when someone drops trou and adds the "special ingredient".

Yeah, you figure that if the body is getting rid of it, there's probably a
reason for doing so. Reintroducing it into the body without extenuating
circumstances (like being stung by a jellyfish) is probably not a good idea. In
the case of urine, it's a means of flushing toxins and such from your body
(which is why it's so sterile), so running them through the system again means
your body has to work that much harder each time.
