Ok, so you clearly support Bush even though you have not disputed any of
the points that I raised against him, and even though you claim to disagree
with him on many issues.  Why does he deserve your vote?  Is there
anything to like about him other than that he *is* GWB?

I don't actually like him.  In fact I cringe whenever I hear him speak.
Probably the born again affectations that disturb me.

Anyhow, I'm not as smart as you, so I can't really put into words why
he's got my vote so far.  Probably it's the war thing.  I'd rather see
someone decisive than a panderer as president right now.

Wow, I guess I'm just an unsophisticated hick.  I'm really sorry for
poking at you when you were upset.

Don, I've never thought of you this way, so I assume you are being sarcastic?

I myself am very passionate about the upcoming election simply because there is
so much at stake.  I've watched in horror over the past 3.5 years as our
government has grown legs of its own and walked all over the people it is
supposed to represent.  And I have been disheartened by the fact that the
average American seems so unconcerned that our government is completely out of
control.

There is no need for you to apologize for poking at me whatsoever.  Healthy
discussion and debate are what democracy is all about!

It there a curator in here?  I don't know what I was thinking.  I had
a very emotional day yesterday and I lost control in .debate.  Can I get
all my previous posts from the past 24 hours canceled?

You can if you wish, but I don't see why you would.  After all, this wouldn't be
.debate if there were no dissenting opinions.  If you spoke from your heart,
there is nothing wrong with that.  If I have changed your mind (or you, mine)
about any of these issues, there is no shame there, either.

- Chris.

(...) No, I really felt pretty bad about it when I posted. I shouldn't be in .debate because I don't know what I'm talking about. I have to figure out a way to get mozilla to drop the extra slash from my lugnet history entry: (URL) way the .debate (...) (20 years ago, 13-May-04, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
