Well, if you're only looking to maintain the status quo of scientific
integrity, Weekly World News isn't too much of a leap away from Discover!
I don't follow many science journals too regularly, though I'll pick up an
occasional Scientific American if it looks interesting. My overall magazine
of choice for matters of critical investigation is Skeptic. Granted, some
of the contributors have a decidedly holier-than-thou attitude, but the
articles are often quite interesting once you wade through the smugness (and
anyone who reads OT.Debate is certainly familiar with authorial smugness!)
While Skeptic isn't specifically a "science" journal, the writers frequently
examine (and generally destroy) claims of New Age hucksters, psychics, and
practitioners of so-called alternative so-called medicine.
