It is evident that the levels of gun use you enjoy in the USA is not
stopping criminals either. Do you not think for one second that gun control
may have the ability to reduce the numbers of guns which reach the hands of
criminals?

One can obtain a gun illegally more easily than one can legally.  If
the legal means were eliminated logically only criminals would have guns then.

Do you not think that it would have the ability to reduce the
numbers of accidental shootings or even the amount of suicides?

It probably would reduce accidental shootings by persons that own a firearm but
do not have any basic gun saftey knowledge.  Of course the increase in criminal
shootings would totally offset that.  A much better solution would be to
actually educate people or make it easier for them to get the proper
education/training.  Accidental shootings are the only good thing gun control
would help prevent.  Of course saving a few while sacrificing many more to the
criminal element makes no sense at all.  (remeber while about 10,000 crimes
involve guns every year, almost 2 million are prevented by law abiding
citizens.)  Gun Control is not the way to help stop the serious problem of
accidental shootings.

As for suicides, well even if I did care what someone does to themselves, I
doubt one would worry about breaking the law (purchasing a gun illegally) if
one was going to shoot oneself.  Never mind the fact that household cleaner
would work better anyway.
