Re: More spam (Was: VERY CHEAP SPACE SETS!)

(...) no (...) It was an example. There are other "free" mail services out there as well, such as yahoo. Of course, they're not really FREE, they're only "free". And it's tangential in that I agree with your main point, your email box should not be (...) (24 years ago, 13-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Million Mom March

(...) to (...) Yeah, I do. I like both shows. Did you listen to Kojo's show today about the John Brown play and history? It was good. Chris (24 years ago, 13-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Million Mom March

(...) Wow, another Diane Rehm listener... Do you also get Public Interest(with Kojo Namndi)? One of my daydreams is to meet Diane or Kojo on the metro and just get to hang out with them for a bit... .... i need better dreams. :) -chris (24 years ago, 13-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Million Mom March

The sound company I do work for on the side is doing the rally on Sunday. I'll be mixing the media feed, so if you catch any of it on C-SPAN or the networks, you'll hear some of my work :) (this is not meant to imply support for the rally's (...)   Million Mom March

Hi all, So this Million Mom March is getting quite a bit of press. I was listening to Diane Rehm again today and she had several organizers as guests for the second half of the show. I should've called in, but I was busy sanding lumber that will (...) (24 years ago, 12-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: More spam (Was: VERY CHEAP SPACE SETS!)

(...) Not to mention that it requires JavaScript, and I can't access it via POP3 or IMAP. It's not an e-mail service, it's an ad revenue generator. Sorry, but no thanks. Cheers, - jsproat (24 years ago, 12-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: May Day "riots" in London

(...) My thoughts entirely. They were 'very well organised and structured' anarchists! Poll Tax riots were a different matter though - at least half the population in the UK supported their cause then, if not particularly their actions. I still have (...)   Re: May Day "riots" in London

(...) Is the difference always clear? It seems that Alex isn't talking about law-abiding demonstration at the Cenotaph since laws were broken. (...) You list three specific conditions, one of which must be met for insurrection to be justified. Do (...) (24 years ago, 12-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: More spam (Was: VERY CHEAP SPACE SETS!)

(...) Not really. The Bulk Mail feature allows you to specify certain addresses that are not classified as Spam no matter what. When the feature first started I was cautious, so I checked my "Bulk Mail" folder every day to see if it didn't take any (...) (24 years ago, 12-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: May Day "riots" in London

(...) I happen to agree as well. An armed inssruection against genuine tyranny ,dictatorship or threats to democratic freedom is justisified (cv. Rumaina (c 1990) ,Cezchsolovakia 1968,Hungary 1956 and some actions in South America). But violence (...) (24 years ago, 12-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: May Day "riots" in London

(...) And Not just that!, For some people it has become a symbol for the remberance of the victims of any conflict.-including the civilian population(they are frequently the forgetten vicitims of conflict.).   Re: Why is AIDS such a big deal?

(...) True, but there are still inherent risks with unprotected sex (including a dishonest partner "sure, honey, I'm clean"), and unless you're prepared to accept the responsibilities, wrap it up or put it away. (...) My point exactly, it's just (...) (24 years ago, 12-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Why is AIDS such a big deal?

(...) While I sort of agree with the general thrust here, there are two problems I can see - Most other STD have short incubation periods and obvious symptoms. SO one could have, in 1984, beleived oneself to be completely disease free and thus told (...) (24 years ago, 12-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

They are actually terrorists. Although I have quite (...) (24 years ago, 12-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Why is AIDS such a big deal?

(...) Unless you just read it for the "articles". Sarcasm, Larry. I was being sarcastic, hence the winking smiley after the statement. You could be no more religious than I could be an American. Can I surmise that the rest of my post was so (...) (24 years ago, 12-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Why is AIDS such a big deal?

(...) I've said that before, you could look it up. It's not exactly a quote as I believe the quote is more along the lines of: 'Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where is your brother Abel?" "I don't know," he replied. "Am I my brother's keeper?"' (NIV (...) (24 years ago, 12-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Why is AIDS such a big deal?

Most are curable, some are not, and not all are limited in transmission to sexual contact. My point (...) (24 years ago, 12-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Why is AIDS such a big deal?
