Re: One item per... (was: Blue Hopper Car Mania)

(...) just nitpicking here, but c/forgetting/choosing not/, ok? I don't need a spell checker. I don't make misteaks. How many times to I have to tell you people that? I may have to make it my tagline (1). 1 - as if it wasn't already. (25 years ago, 12-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

(...) Just nitpicking here but the amount the retailer nets as profit may be slightly more, or slightly less. It depends on a number of factors such as what the cost to take an order is, the cost to fulfill an order, how much less one box costs than (...)   Re: Gray or Grey?

(...) The English (and I would argue correct, but I'm an Aussie ;) spelling is "grey", although I went to school with a guy called Peter Gray. Whatever makes you comfortable. I agree it is a grey area (watch out for the .pun police!!), like (...) (25 years ago, 12-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Blue Hopper Car Mania...

(...) Yup. Most places that will host your domain will also forward mail to any address at that domain to your main account. I use a different e-mail address for each online store I order from and for various other things. That way I can more easily (...) (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Blue Hopper Car Mania...

(...) Wow, thanks. (...) You're certainly right about that. (...) Well, I think that's debatable in general, and ridiculous with respect to me and my household. I haven't paid full price for any of the 50 or so DVDs I own. Heck, I haven't paid half (...) (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

I may be in breeches, but don't pour any beer, small or otherwise, in them. :-) On a serious note, if the company only wants to mail one per address, then getting one sent to every address you know of *is* following the rules and is not a (...)   Re: Motive vs Action (was Re: Blue Hopper Car Mania...)

(...) I agree with you. They shouldn't be punished the same, as their actions were different. BUT that isn't what was being talked about. The discussion was about whether judging by action or judging by intent was more fair. From the original (...) (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Gray or Grey?

(...) My book (1) says that Gray is correct, and Grey is the British spelling (2). (...) I don't mind if you use either way, but both would be annoying. :) Since both pass the spellcheck, I guess it's generally accepted to use either way. I dunno (...)   Re: Gray or Grey?

(...) It depends on if you're in the US or not. In the US it's gray, though I personally spell it grey (I've been tainted by reading a bunch of books by UK authors as a kid, in my combination hunt-and-peck/touch typing, grey is easier to type - (...)
