Re: Eh, what's a few dollars amongst friends...

(...) Apathy is rampant everywhere--what can one person do against the establishment? is the common consensus. As for the smoking thing--I'm pretty much on the fence--sueing tobacco companies now 'cause we didn't know the harm of smoking... The term (...)   Re: Eh, what's a few dollars amongst friends...

(...) Yeah, I agree. Here's the problem (and I thought I had touched on this before...ah, yes (URL)): public relations. We aren't having wars -- we are buying into a product. We aren't believing the lies -- the subject of public discourse is the lie (...) (21 years ago, 16-Sep-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

And now for something completely different...

How do you sleep? (URL) are all aware of our body language when we are awake but this is the first time we have been able to see what our subconscious says about us," he said.   Google News is a good way to get references to Lego in the media

I am a big fan of Google News ((URL) You can use it to set up "news alerts" that send out an e-mail when a certain keyword is found in news stories (say, LEGO). One of the things I love about it is its breadth of coverage. You get news from lots of (...) (21 years ago, 16-Sep-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Sticking my gun where it doesn't belong...

(...) I could not resist to comment: 1-americans must *really* feel lonely, at 1.4 per home! (*) 2-Those 200million guns (or whatever the figure) can never work as one. For starters, no wanna-be-oppressor would be dumb enough not to have a power (...) (21 years ago, 16-Sep-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

(...) Your right but the guns in the other 200ish million homes does. (...) Even a Muskett in everyone's hands would still work.   Re: Sticking my gun where it doesn't belong...

(...) Psst! Hey Mike, just for an FYI--we're in the 21st century. What worked in 1776 may not work so much right now. But that's just my personal opinion. And I'll point out once again that the 'establishment' has nukes and what else comes with the (...) (21 years ago, 16-Sep-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

Re: Sticking my gun where it doesn't belong...

(...) I was cutting the other side some slack with my 'diplomatic wording'. It's called being nice to the other side.   Re: Safe at last

(...) I'm gonna go with "not". What bugs me is that most everyone seems not to care. So, all you frogs out there, what's the temperature now? How many degrees left till we get to boiling? (21 years ago, 16-Sep-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

Re: Sticking my gun where it doesn't belong...

(...) Okay, but now we're back to "guns don't kill people; people kill people." If you wish to condemn guns based on their "intent," then you can't simply abandon that argument in favor of the user's "'usual' purpose." You seem to be claiming (...) (...) Hence I didn't say that the inherent purpose of a gun is to shoot someone.
