What kind of society talks like that?

One that recognizes Freedom was purchased in blood. I highly doubt that I will ever need defend my rights in such a distastful manner, but with idiots pushing for things like the Patriot Act, I recognize that anything can happen. What do you think would happen if Dubbya decided to cancel elections for reasons of national security? Frankly, I don’t like where ‘we’ are headed,(I hope I am just being paranoid) but if you want to go into it unarmed that is your choice to make. No one will make my choice for me. If you think I am a gun-totin-yahoo because I belive in the Revolutionary War motto of “Give me liberty or give me death”, then so be it.

Psst! Hey Mike, just for an FYI--we’re in the 21st century. What worked in 1776 may not work so much right now.

But that’s just my personal opinion.

And I’ll point out once again that the ‘establishment’ has nukes and what else comes with the armed forces. In 1776 (again), the ‘establishment’ was not better armed than the citizen.

Put the gun down, it isn’t going to do you a wee bit of good, except get yourself and maybe those you love killed. Martyrs aren’t made anymore in that fashion or Koresh would be one.

In the end, live (and die) as you see fit, but let the truth be known--your gun in your house isn’t going to prevent politicians form doing what they want. That may have been the case in 1776ish, but not in 2003.
