  Re: MB White House

(...) Actually that sounds about right. On the MB website they have a flash animation that boasts of the size of their sets by piece count in ascending order. It goes 780...1400...1700, and I don't know of any other MB set that corresponds to that (...) (24 years ago, 13-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: lotsa clone stuff on auction (military, space, castle)

(...) As a very satisfied winning bidder on one of Joseph's recent auctions, I can say without reservation that the items I received from Joseph far exceeded my hopes, in terms of quality, completeness, and overall efficiency of transaction. Several (...) (24 years ago, 13-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: New Castle LEGOs

Actually, you can buy a fairly good selection of BESTLOC castle sets from www.GetTheToys.com, which ONLY ships to North American addresses. Great prices too. (...) (24 years ago, 13-Nov-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Chris Gray's site (was Re: MB sites)

(...) No, it's not. At least, not in my case. My "prejudice" against MB is mostly 2 factors: (partly 1, but mostly 2) 1: Nostalgia. I grew up with Lego, I didn't grow up with Mega Bloks. 2: I don't like the feel of Mega Bloks. It's that simple. I've (...) (24 years ago, 13-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Clones Database (was Re: MB sightings)

(...) Richard, As much as I, you or anyone else would like or bennefit from such an expansion of LUGNET, we have have to understand a couple of realities as far as LUGNET is concerned. Before I expand on this, allow me to put forth a few (...) (24 years ago, 13-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Chris Gray's site (was Re: MB sites)

(...) It *is* simple religious fervour. My Castle Wall Components, which I featured at Brickfest 2000, were mostly Lego brand bricks, with a random amount of both MB and Tyco bricks to add realism and aesthetic detail (more than just a plain gray (...)   Re: New Castle LEGOs

As far as I know, Best-Lock Castles are not sold in the US... So that won't help any of us that might be interested. Paul (...) (24 years ago, 13-Nov-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  MB Blue Thunder plane

I just finished building the MB Blue Thunder plane. I have to agree with someone else's comment that the rear horizontal wings are a bit flimsy. However, I had enough spare 1x2 blue plates to add them on as a bit more reinforcement and found it (...) (24 years ago, 13-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: MB aircraft carriers

(...) fall (...) Yes, the adding of the wheels is a bit bizarre. It would have been more logical to do the wheels before commencing any of the above-deck superstructure. But then I wouldn't have built the carrier hull in three parts either. I found (...) (24 years ago, 13-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: MB sites

(...) Thanks for the update - I've fixed the page. I've never bought any of the creature seekers sets (purple and bright green for castles????), so haven't seen it before. (24 years ago, 12-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Searching for MB aircraft carriers in Oz (Re: MB sites)

(...) Mmmm. Definitely in need of carriers - time to get on the phone I guess... Richard Sill baldly going... (24 years ago, 12-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.org.au)

  Re: MB sites

(...) If you mean this piece: (URL) then you're certainly correct; it's been around at least since the Planetoids series of a few years ago. Dave! (24 years ago, 12-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: MB sites

(...) Nice site. I do have a comment on your review of the carrier: the crane piece which you mention as being new is an old piece I think. It looks like the crane piece in the Creature Seekers floating ship (one of a handfull of Mega Bloks sets (...) (24 years ago, 12-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Chris Gray's site (was Re: MB sites)

(...) I have worked with Mega Bloks. They don't hold together quite so well as LEGO bricks. They're not as bad as Best Lock. They also aren't quite as uniform in color as LEGO bricks (but that may be a plus for castle building). People have noted (...) (24 years ago, 12-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: MB White House

(...) Be sure to give us all the lowdown, if you purchase one. Like the Lego Statue of Liberty, we may not see this in the Southern Hemisphere (24 years ago, 12-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: MB White House

(...) I haven't seen it in stores yet; I believe I read that it will be 1400 pieces, and if the previous ProBuilder sets are any indication, it will be largely composed of 2x4 bricks. As a bit of idle speculation, some of the new sets feature a (...) (24 years ago, 12-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: MB White House

(...) The Blue Thunder (the twin fin jet?) is new to Australia as far as I know. It's in the same batch as the red helicopter and Aircraft Carrier. The catalogues are on the minimalist side, like their website. How big did the White House look ? (24 years ago, 12-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Chris Gray's site (was Re: MB sites)

(...) Religious fervour it is. I wonder how many "MB never" people have actually tested the bricks out. Lego Bulk didn't really change the cost of bricks, just made them a bit easier to obtain (for those in the lucky countries). But if people wish (...)   Re: Searching for MB aircraft carriers in Oz (Re: MB sites)

(...) TRU Parramatta had them (but Chatswood TRU had them at that time too). A bit sad when a MB model sells out during a 25% off Lego sale. Big W's generally carry the Battleships (haven't seen the AC's there though). pw (24 years ago, 12-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.org.au)
