  Re: Mega Bloks: ProBuilder Series

In lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, Dave Schuler wrote worthily on MB Ditto Dave! A good answer to the question of whether you'll like the bricks is to simply buy a cheap set and see what you think. One of my sons bought the larger tank, and likes it, (...) (20 years ago, 9-Jun-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Mega Bloks: ProBuilder Series

Thanks Dave! Normally I look up old posts, but this time I skipped! There seems to be quite a few posts on the MegaBloks vs Lego brands. After reading some I think it may be worth springing a few dollars for the ProBuilder series. BTW: KBToys.com (...) (20 years ago, 9-Jun-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Minimates

(...) I'm not a great fan of the minimates figure design, so when the JLA kits finally appear in retail outlets, I'll be buying them for the overall sets, rather than for the figures. Thanks for the link, though! Dave! (20 years ago, 9-Jun-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Mega Bloks: ProBuilder Series

(...) Hi Ram! I haven't yet purchased the Sea Wolf, but now would be a good time to buy it. It originally retailed for $79.99, but TRU has had it on sale for $39.97 for a while due to overstock. With over 2100 parts, it's a good piece:price ratio at (...) (20 years ago, 9-Jun-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Mega Bloks: ProBuilder Series

Hi All! Till now I have spend mega bucks on Lego sets. Looking around Mega Bloks seem to have some interesting sets. Since I am still wary of the "Other" stuff. I was wondering if the folks having both Lego and Mega Bloks can provide their feedback. (...) (20 years ago, 9-Jun-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Market for clone sets?

(...) Interesting! Are the clone pieces LEGO-compatible, or are they slightly off-size, like Tente? I confess that I've never seen a brand stamped "toy," so this is news to me. Would it be possible to post a scan of one or several of the clone (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jun-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Market for clone sets?

I picked up a "grab bag" of Lego at a garage sale yesterday. Most of it was Lego, but there were a lot of 'clone' pieces as well -- each stamped with the word "toy". (Aside from some discolouration on the white pieces, these clones are very good (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jun-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Minimates

This month's ToyFare magazine has an article on the upcoming Minimates JLA stuff, complete with new pictures: (URL) don't appear to be pictures online, unfortunately. Also, I only had time to glance at the mag at the store, so I didn't catch a (...) (20 years ago, 4-Jun-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Coko castle set on Ebay

(URL) you go.> I don't know the seller, and I won't be bidding. Coko has a few sets very similar to this. I own one of them, but I'm not sure if it's this one. In any case, elements of note are a bunch of 1x4 and 1x2x8 arch bricks, as well as a (...) (20 years ago, 1-Jun-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Can anyone identify this part?

(...) Thanks Dave! but I fear I'll be a disappointment - all my clone parts (most of which have come hidden in ebay or BL lots) are consigned to the "curiousities" bin. Of course if anyone wants to pay shipping, I'll gladly send it to you but I only (...) (20 years ago, 22-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

Re: Can anyone identify this part?

(...) Hmm... And here's Tim protesting too much... Watch out, LDraw--I predict that Tim's certain to come out of the clone closet in the near future. Dave! (20 years ago, 21-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  Can anyone identify this part?

(2 URLs) Looks like a clone to me, but I've no idea what exactly it is or where it came from, can anyone tell me? ROSCO (20 years ago, 21-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  Re: Longshot requests

(...) Actually, those "Wall" sets were my very first Megabloks sets. Before them (which came in a huge long box), I had seen similar sets in carry bags, but didn't think they had enough bricks to be worth it. I think they had the same amount, but (...)   Longshot requests

Does anyone happen to own any MEGABLOKS catalogs from the early to mid 90's, specifically including the Dinosaur sets from that period? I used to have one or two, but I can't find them and fear that they're lost for good. Also, does anyone have a (...) (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

Coming up: a real LEGO mosaic

Hi all, As I announced earlier, I am going to make a LEGO mosaic. A trip to Legoland is planned later this year, I hope to find there all the required pieces to finish this project. I have just finished another Ministeck mosaic. (URL) (192x240 (...) (20 years ago, 14-May-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

Re: Reasons for the color change

(...) It takes a lot of effort to draw a crossbow, but not much effort to release it. If the geometry isn't properly designed, there could be a lot of potential force stored in the connection itself that is just waiting to help pop the pieces apart (...)
