Re: IBM chooses Mega-Blocks over Lego

(...) If you were at a Coke party, for Coke drinkers, planned by Coke drinkers you would most certainly be asked to leave. Would that surprise you or would you refuse to leave and instead spout the virtues of Pepsi to people who are clearly Coke (...) (21 years ago, 28-Aug-03, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  Re: MB quality

(...) Interesting test criteria. I wonder how many of the large Lego sets I have built over the years would have passed this test in partially completed states. Come to think of it, there aren't many Lego sets this big, so if you extended them a (...) (21 years ago, 27-Aug-03, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Color Scheme Questions

Well here is a nice conundrum for everyone. I have 2 color schemes (URL) From a purely artistic stand point the one on the left is superior to the one on the right. The "problem" is the one on the left uses a color only produced by Mega Bloks while (...) (21 years ago, 26-Aug-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  Re: MB quality

(...) <snip> I was looking thru my pieces last night and sure, TLC has been exemplary lately, but I recall (strokes chin thoguhtfully) that when Samsonite was the authorized maker and distributor of LEGO, at least for Canada, in the early '70's...   Re: MB quality

(...) Obviously, you have to keep taking samples until you agree with me. (...) Then that's unfortunate indeed. In the past, I've insisted that quality is on par with LEGO, but I have to admit that differences certainly exist. The great Sea Wolf (...)   Re: Apocryphal Blacktron re-revisited

(...) Interesting! I like a smooth-ish undersurface for some reason, maybe a for the minimal below-wing profile. I dunno. I tend toward atmospheric-style craft designs, and I guess I've stuck to a format. Maybe that's something to work on for the (...) (21 years ago, 22-Aug-03, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Apocryphal Blacktron re-revisited

(...) I think the underneath area needs some work maybe -- it's too flat, and I hate that (like you care, right?). And why aren't you trying some clever use of the landing gear that comes with that blue jet? What are those areas of 4 grey 1x1 round (...)   Re: A serious clone question

(...) According to TLC's annual report, the Americas (US+Canada+Mexico+SouthAmerica) only accounts for one-third of TLC sales, whereas Europe accounts for more than 50% - and as MegaBlocks has never been big in Europe (here in Denmark they only sell (...)   Re: IBM chooses Mega-Blocks over Lego

(...) Mmm, troll food. Go find a site that is dedicated to old Ford trucks - note: NOT old trucks in general, but Ford specifically - and see how freely they intersperse their discussions about Chevy. This is a Lego site.   Re: MB quality

(...) How many samples do I have to take? It's representative enough for me, since it wasn't my first bad experience.... I've tried MB several times and always have been, in the end, disappointed with the quality. I have limited resources (of time, (...) (21 years ago, 22-Aug-03, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: IBM chooses Mega-Blocks over Lego

Y'all are ignoring the obvious fact that you never made a person talk in a particular place at a party because he was drinking Pepsi. You didn't for example say: "Go talk in the bathroom while you are drinking Pepsi." There's a personal and slightly (...) (21 years ago, 22-Aug-03, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

(...) This is the group designated for clone discussion, pro or con. It should stay polite, just as with any group, but that doesn't mean people shouldn't have the right to make negative statements about clones here. They should, however, be aware (...)   Re: IBM chooses Mega-Blocks over Lego

(...) A certain group of non-clone users may fall into that group, but I suspect it's less an issue than you seem to suspect. Some people avoid clones because they feel that they're violating TLC's patent rights, others avoid them because they (...) (21 years ago, 21-Aug-03, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)
