Re: One for Maggie & Julie: (Was: Stackers Review)

(...) I'm not really into cars or racing stuff, but as an expansion of the clone market I'd definitely be interested to see what they come up with. Speaking of Xmas clone bargains at Target, I noticed yesterday that the larger $19.99 Mecha sets are (...) (22 years ago, 9-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Some Oxford pics

(...) Well, having the weapons still on sprue, is possible to create some "clones" (of clones! :-) with lead, using that kind of material that is used to create moulds for lead soldiers and such. I dunno if it is possible to create duplicates in (...) (22 years ago, 9-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: One for Maggie & Julie: (Was: Stackers Review)

(...) Yes, I meant to follow up. I was very impressed with how compatible they are. The 6x12 piece is as thick as 2 plates. I was surprised to see them on clearance so soon, grabbed a bunch for Christmas presents. (It'll be a big year for clones for (...) (22 years ago, 9-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

One for Maggie & Julie: (Was: Stackers Review)

(...) (URL) the compatibility-minded clone fan, I am happy to report that these lil' boxes are 6 studs x 12 studs and are a nice six bricks tall. Contrast that with semi-compatible clones such as Best-Lock. Dave! (22 years ago, 9-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Some Oxford pics

(...) Cool, thanks. Gotta get me some Oxford weapons... :-) Richard Still baldly going... (22 years ago, 9-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Some Oxford pics

Hi all! I posted a photo comparison between Lego, BestLock, Oxford and Stikfas weapons. (I apologize for the poor focus of the image...) IMHO, the Stikfas ones are even better scaled to Lego originals than the Oxford ones (their real problem is (...) (22 years ago, 9-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Stackers Review (Was Re: Stackers)

(...) Hmmm, my pair from a 2-pack fell apart rather easily into six pieces each (four clear walls, top and bottom "brick"). In fact I couldn't get it to stay together easily or reliably. I pretty much categorized them as junk and have come close to (...) (22 years ago, 6-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Stackers Review (Was Re: Stackers)

(...) I'm a sucker for stuff like this, so when I saw some today at Target on clearance I grabbed a couple. (URL) came two in a package with an Ertl Racing Champ car for $1.74. The clear front door swings up to open, and it doesn't stay shut if you (...) (22 years ago, 5-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: 40% off sale at Kohl's (M***bloks, NOT LEGO)

(...) ...and you receive a $10 gift certificate for every $50 you spend. Gift cert good Oct 6-12. (My Kohls had 20% off Lego. I was pleasantly surprised since there was no sign indicating the sale.) Julie (22 years ago, 5-Oct-02, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: New MegaBloks a-comin!

(...) Yeah, at 75 percent off they make nice space ship detail parts too! :-) On that note, it looks like the Mega Bloks fire engine ladder peices might make some nice catwalks. (...) -Mike Petrucelli (22 years ago, 3-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: New MegaBloks a-comin!

(...) Pretty cool to have a ready-made inventory. But getting back to the above list, the 1x2 tiles are VERY cool. Things are REALLY starting to heat up with clones I think. TLC had better watch its back -- and for all I know Gagmidor and (...) (22 years ago, 2-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: New MegaBloks a-comin!

(...) Well, how about the day *after* tomorrow morning... A little on the small side, but you get the idea:(URL) here's a shot of the fire axe, jaws-of-life, and fire extinguisher nozzle with a 2x4 plate for scale. Sorry about the annoying glare: (...)   Re: New MegaBloks a-comin!

(...) Hmmm, I like the marbling... I guess I should have realized I had hundreds of 2x2 bricks in Dino and Galaxy colors, it's just that many of the newer sets use numerous 1x2 bricks instead of ANY 2x2 bricks. I never thought of it as element (...) (22 years ago, 1-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: New MegaBloks a-comin!

(...) Their 2x2 brick seems less common in ProBuilder models than in earlier MB series. The old dinosaur sets were lousy with them; I have the sense that the designers sometimes chose two 2x2 bricks rather than one 2x4 brick for the sole purpose of (...)   Re: New MegaBloks a-comin!

(...) One of the cool new features of MB instructions is the illustrated and numbered piece inventory. I'll try to scan and post the image tomorrow morning.   Re: New MegaBloks a-comin!

(...) Mega Bloks does make 2x2 bricks. They do have way too many holes in their slope selection though. -Mike Petrucelli (22 years ago, 1-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)
