Re: Cool new features at Brickbay —Dan Jezek
(...) I was hesitating for a second to post the original message here also but didn't find a more relevant NG. (...) Problem is that the search will only give you the items that a seller has picked from the internal parts/sets catalog. If a seller (...) (24 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Cool new features at Brickbay —Christopher Lindsey
(...) That's OK with me. :) (...) Part of the problem with that method is that I don't always know what category a part is in. It's similar to the problem that I run into with the regular search engine -- I don't always know what a part's name is. (...) (24 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Cool new features at Brickbay —Dan Jezek
(...) Ok...type 4523 into the search box now and see what happens P.S. I'm amazed that you remember parts by the number and not by the name. (24 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Cool new features at Brickbay —Christopher Lindsey
(...) Awesome! Thanks! :) (...) I'm just a freak that way... :) But more often than not I have a sample of the piece that I want on hand, so I can just look at the part number stamped on the bottom and do a quick search. Chris P.S. I really like (...) (24 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Cool new features at Brickbay —Larry Pieniazek
(...) You must be young or eat a lot of carrots. I eat a lot of carrots and I can never read those numbers, too small and poorly lit, without dragging out a lighted magnifier. ++Lar (24 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Cool new features at Brickbay —Kevin Wilson
Larry Pieniazek wrote in message ... (...) You too eh! I have to take my glasses off (shortsighted enough that I don't need a magnifier) and hold the part under a strong light to read them! Kevin (24 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Cool new features at Brickbay —Christopher Lindsey
(...) Isn't youth just a state of mind? :) Having turned the big 3-oh this year I suspect I'm probably smack dab in the middle of LUGNET's age range. I do need a flashlight to see into a lot of those bricks, though... The fun ones are pieces like (...) (24 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.theory)

(...) "eh?" Eh!!!??? ... ya hoser, you've been in Canada too long, you've fergotten yer roots, mate! In lugnet.market.theory, Christopher Lindsey writes: (...) Get used to it.       Larry Pieniazek wrote in message ... (...) Actually old chap, that was a *British* "eh". Where do you think those colonials got it from, eh? Eh? Kevin (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Cool new features at Brickbay —Larry Pieniazek
(...) Roight you are mate. I say guv, carry on, good show and all that. Cheers. I feel better now. If I hear "cheers, mate" one more time I think I'm gonna scream. And I just got here two days ago. I'm UKed out already, and Bluewater supposedly (...) (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.theory, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Cool new features at Brickbay —Kevin Wilson
Larry Pieniazek wrote in message ... (...) I guess it's the UK equivalent of "Have a nice day" over here. That one drove me up the wall for a while until I learned to tune it out. Just as meaningless. Kevin (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Cool new features at Brickbay —Mike Stanley
(...) You are correct. I usually open my shop, then post a notice here of the shop being opened. When I open my shop with new items that are on someone's wishlist, they get an e-mail telling them I have it. Those people usually get the jump on (...)         Re: Cool new features at Brickbay —Kevin Wilson
     D. Jezek wrote in message ... (...) But Dan, that still requires you to know what the part is called. Searching by part number is great when you have this weird doohickey, you don't know what it's called, but it has the number on it, so you can (...)          Re: Cool new features at Brickbay —Dan Jezek
(...) I suspect that SQL treats data type currency as a character and not a number. MS Access doesn't. Everything works fine on my test system (MS access). To make a long story short, character data will always be higher than a number. So "0.75" (...) (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Cool new features at Brickbay —Ray Sanders
(...) Dan, As a seller, I have a two fold problem listing oddball parts. If I know the part number (but not the category) *or* I know the name (but not the category). In the second case, I can sort of fudge a search and see where everyone is putting (...) (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.theory)
