Hi Pawel,

I want to comment on your post for a few reasons. Other people already
mentioned that this auction post is not in the right place, or is worded
poorly.

When I read this post I immediately understood what you were talking about,
especially when I saw the picture. However, that is only because I frequently
(VERY frequently) read lugnet.castle, and pay close attention to Castle World
items. Naturally, I noticed the discussion about funding CW, and Pawel's
suggestion of an auction to raise money for CW.

I also know you (Pawel) well enough by now to realize that you didn't notice
what you were saying, as you have the tendency to rush into things <grin>.

But the point is, most of the people that read this might not read .castle
often, and they might not know you well enough to conclude what I did.

So, while your intentions were obviously well-meant, the execution wasn't so
clear.

Let me put your words in a better form for the mentioned above people:

Castle World is currently trying to raise funds in order to get a domain name.
This auction is Pawel's contribution to this effort.

The auction is more a plug for Castle World than anything else. Proceeds will
probably go to fund a server for CW.

What's interesting here is that there are no bids, although a lot of hits
(right now over 350).
Any idea why there are no bids? Perhaps developing the text around it scared
off potential buyers?

[My thought here: maybe everyone who arrived clicked on your links and was so
interested with CW or other stuff mentioned that they forgot to bid... :) ]

Here is a link to the auction. This is not an attempt to solicit bids.

That would be my suggestion for such a post. It explains both the purpose of
the auction and the purpose of the post, IMHO.

Pure theory on castle auction ...

I put up five castle (which is a hot item by itself on e-bay) figures for auction. Here is the link for reference: (URL) item has a wolfpack torso, a brown cowl, a skeleton, some body armor, a forestman torso, a pointed hat, a classic Vader black (...)
