  KB delaying payments

Reuters has a report that KB-toys is rumored to be delaying payments to some vendors... (URL) available on other sites that carry the Reuters Business wire. Most interesting is the last para concerning KB possibly going to private label toys. Ray (23 years ago, 19-Dec-03, to lugnet.market.theory)

  TRU Closing stores

Very hard to read[1], but TRU appears to be shuttding down their freestanding Kids'R'Us and Imaginarium stores. I've never seen any of these, but someone might care. . .   Re: Orig. Boxes, 95% off !!* (read terms)

(...) Actually, you're right, it is still "messing with the price guide". However, most boxes were listed at the average previous sales price. I figured leaving them at that price I would mess much less with the price guide than selling them at 95% (...) (23 years ago, 23-Nov-03, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Orig. Boxes, 95% off !!* (read terms)

(...) Doesn't your proposed procedure directly "mess with the price guide" by reporting false information into the record? If you can't sell the boxes within an acceptable timeframe at full price then their real value to you is what you are able to (...)   Knockoffs for the Toy Box?

(URL) LEGO isn't mentioned by name, this is an interesting quick snapshot of the competetive nature of the toy business these days. Ray (23 years ago, 23-Nov-03, to lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: 10$ S&H ???

(...) I have to agree with Michael on this one. There are some e-bay retailers who don't have the time to pack their own boxes. They rely on 3rd party services to pack up their shipments to their customers. I guess I get the same feeling on Ebay (...)   Re: 10$ S&H ???

Well my take on this was you thought the 'quote' was ok, before you knew the breakdown so forgot you found out and let it slide. You agreed that the shipping was ok and paid it so turning that into a negative feedback would be considered pretty (...) (23 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.market.theory, lugnet.market.shipping)

  Re: 10$ S&H ???

(...) His letter said simply that shipping quote to Israel for Airmail Parcel Post is $42.40. I thought that this is the cost, and obviously if that's the case I wouldn't be able to get a much better deal as I think 93$ is a fair price for the set. (...)   Re: 10$ S&H ???

(...) My view goes something like this... International shipping involves more paperwork than inside the US shipping. You have to get it right or else the package might not arrive in a timely fashion (or might even get bounced back to the sender). (...)   10$ S&H ???

Hi, I have a problem I was hoping to get some advice about: I recently bought <set:8455 Backhoe Loader> through eBay. (I live in Israel so I couldn't use lego direct) On the auction the seller requested that international bidders contact him before (...)   Re: Fwd from a builder: Colors don't match, among other things!

(...) This article is a quite interesting read. What jumped out at me was the mention that different colors of ABS have different specific gravities (within a small overall range). I wonder if the saline solution would have a detrimental effect on (...) (23 years ago, 16-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.db.brictionary, lugnet.cad, lugnet.market.theory)

(...) I feel like I missed a rant somewhere, because I don't see where you even got upset about it--just one sideways reference to it having been your design. It seems that others have been much more outraged on your behalf than you have, so maybe (...) (23 years ago, 14-Nov-03, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Selling my MOC Gunstar (maybe)

And for the record, I think it would be bad form for Ryan to sell this model (...) (23 years ago, 13-Nov-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.starwars, lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Requesting parts in fantastic colors

A few times this has paid off -- like when Tan 1x4x3 window frames first appeared from the Privet Drive set, and (...) (23 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.market.theory, FTX)
