Likewise. However, usually when posting about a sale or a
clearance find I will specifically say whether or not I will
buy things by proxy--and my mind is usually working on a
basis of economics, although if I know someone (or if they've
done me the favour before) I will often go out of my way.
Although I have also expressed a broad wish publicly asking
for a proxy buyer before and someone (wonder who :) ) was
extremely kind and offered to do it for me.

It's all about reciprocity and general kindness for me--there's
never any reason, EVER, to be angry and rude because a stranger
won't or can't do you a favour, and I feel badly that Brad had
to deal with such a thing.
