Hi Gail,
I've read the postings to your message to date. I like to think of the
current decision makers at LEGO as those who thought Galidor was a good
idea. I agree that by telling us that the road plates that we have invested
heavily in are "sold out" is bad business. I hope the brain trust at LEGO
will restock the roadplates they have offered for many years! I'll just
purchase the older roadplates on Bricklink if they don't.
I tell quite a few people who attend our Lug events "Sorry, LEGO doesn't
make this (monorail, especially for the parents) anymore. I'm always
apologetic because I tell everyone that LEGO is the best! I want to market
my favorite toy. Sometimes though, I think Galidor???...
Now when we display, we may have to say "Sorry, It is a great company
but...they are not consistent enough to offer the scale I'm using, I collect
pre 2003 roads and trains" or "Sorry, the current roadplates are all that
LEGO makes, I collect 4 wide." (6 wide is also great, so I appreciate the
new roadplates, don't discontinue them)
Perhaps, LEGO S@H just sold out of our roadplates. This doesn't mean they
are not restocking. I also think you should have called and straightened it
out with LEGO Customer Service before you vented. I hope S@H gives you a
full refund and they may find a few more classic roadplates in the warehouse!
Don't give up on LUGNET because of hostile responses. I'm a magnet for
hostility and I still post.
