Re: So, you wanna talk strategy…... about Tuesday Morning.

(...) Have I told you lately that you’re the best person in the World! =) (...) Oh, good idea!!! I can only hope to learn from the master. <bows head in respect> (...) Very nice, I think a fitting subheading would be somethin’ like: Wear gear (...) (22 years ago, 16-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Next Round of Tuesday Morning Sales (Bit of a Scoop)

(...) I know LEGO often provides Suggested Retail Prices that are well above what normal retail channels sell at, including Shop at Home. For example, Mindstorms RIS 1.5 SRP is $237.99. -Rob. (22 years ago, 16-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.market.theory)

In lugnet.market.shopping, Greg Perry writes: ... (...) Today, my Tuesday Morning still has them at $19.95, left over from the last sale. Also left over was various Duplo and a 1351 Movie Backdrop Studio. (...) I also saw some 2556 Shell Ferrari's (...) (22 years ago, 16-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) So call me the Queen of Dead Thread Resurrection! :-) (...) One tactic is to weave the thread into another. Since Greg P. posted that the next Tuesday Morning sale begins tomorrow (URL) would be a good opportunity to try out some of your (...)   Re: TRU Midnight Madness. Is it worth it???

(...) There's one spiff that I'm aware of. Each TRU will have a few copies of Steven Sansweet's Star Wars Action Figure Archive book from Chronicle books. One will be given to anyone who buys $50+ of SW stuff, while supplies last (which won't be (...) (22 years ago, 15-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Cut UPC bar-codes on lego products ?

(...) Several years ago I remember a promotion involving sending in a UPC code for something $9.99 or over, and getting some small item like a keychain. Details escape me now, but I think it was a deal announced in the LEGO mania magazine. I suppose (...) (22 years ago, 15-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: TRU Midnight Madness. Is it worth it???

(...) For episode one, that was it. No spiffs or discounts. Those were good sets so it was worth doing. YMMV. (22 years ago, 15-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: TRU Midnight Madness. Is it worth it???

(...) The question is would I want to go to a Midnight Madness sale. I think not. If the sales were great. Like a $80 set for 15 bucks then yes, but just to be the first person on my block to own these sets. Not such a great thing. I do however (...) (22 years ago, 15-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Star Wars at Kohls (MN)

The Maplewood Kohls (Minnesota) had many of the new sets today (names/prices from memory, so may be off a bit). Kohls sometimes marks stuff up a bit but these looked like MSRPish prices to me: Tatooine Encounter (Sandpeople), $9.99 Jedi (...)   TRU Midnight Madness. Is it worth it???

Hi, I'm considering going to the TRU Midnight Madness on the 23rd but is it worthwhile? Are there any discounts or BOGO's? How about special offers like a free ticket to SW for $100 in purchases? (Dreaming...) Or is the only good in going because (...) (22 years ago, 15-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  A pretty good bye

After being cooped up in my house for a half a day I had to get out. My first stop was TRU. That was really bad. The shelves were pretty much everything of Bionicle, Bob the builder, and Jack stone. Can we say wherehouse clearence. Ran into one (...) (22 years ago, 13-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Cut UPC bar-codes on lego products ?

(...) I have seen this phenomenon too, esspecially right before the begining of the christmas sales. so far I have only seen it on lego items and it usually is on the slightly more expensive sets, like over $30. Ive had a couple of speculations on (...) (22 years ago, 13-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Any Lego Places to Visit in St. Louis, MO ?

Conrad, I wouldn't say there is anything special Lego-wise here in St. Louis. We have the standard stores: Wal-Marts, K-Marts, Targets, TRUs, KB and three KB Outlets sprinkled here and there. Last weekend the KB at the South County Mall (I55 & I270) (...) (22 years ago, 12-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.loc.us.mo.stl)

Re: Cut UPC bar-codes on lego products ?

(...) I think there may be another reason (although, I'm not sure it would work)... Could they maybe paste the UPC code onto a more expensive set and have it ringup for the cheaper cost? I've heard of that being done with baby formula! I don't know (...) (22 years ago, 12-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Cut UPC bar-codes on lego products ?

While shopping today, I came across two A-Wings (out of three) with the UPC bar codes neatly sliced from the boxes (leaving a nice rectangular hole). Anyone out there know why someone might have done this ? <speculation> I could only think of two (...) (22 years ago, 12-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: LEGO Outlet in Northern Virginia...is it worth visiting?

(...) After a good friend and very good assistant manager was let go from that store for bogus (possibly even discriminatory) reasons, I won't visit or shop there again. At least not until there is a change of management in that store. KL (22 years ago, 11-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Any Lego Places to Visit in St. Louis, MO ?

Hi all. I may be going to Saint Louis, MO next month, and wanted to know if there were any places I should check out for Lego deals. I'm from the Los Angeles, CA area, so please let me know of any stores that might not be in my local area. Thanks! (...) (22 years ago, 11-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: LEGO Outlet in Northern Virginia...is it worth visiting?

(...) Scratch and dent it what it's all about... I don't think I've ever not found something on the Scratch and Dent table. Sadly, I doubt I will get there even as often as I used to. Frank (22 years ago, 11-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: LEGO Outlet in Northern Virginia...is it worth visiting?

I've made the stop on a few occasions my self and the answer is "It depends." First, the store is at Potomac Mills, a HUGE outlet mall fairly close to 95. Weekends is a total zoo - it's not a quick and easy stop then. Given the delays on 95 around (...) (22 years ago, 11-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)
