Girl themes (Was Re: What themes have been most universally discounted?)

(...) Sometimes themes languish on store shelves not because they are bad themes but because there isn't much of a market for them. The "girl themes" fall into this category. In the early to mid 90's TRU carried three of the larger Paradisa sets, (...) (23 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

What themes have been most universally discounted?

Hi all, I was just reviewing the last couple years of S@H specials and I started wondering about which lines were such bombs that they were almost always discounted. It takes time for even the worst sets to hit a discount, but after that which ones (...) (23 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

To answer my own question before asking it: 3914: $3.99, 1 pc (keychain) 1097: $1.99, 17 pc 4805: $5.99, 26 pcs 3413: $4.99, 27 pcs Total retail: $16.96 Which is to say: 53% off.   Re: discounts are great but.....

(...) I find the lego market section of lugnet very useful. Like any hobby ours cost real dollars and who doesn't want to get the most bang for their buck. I also enjoy and learn from feedback of other AFOLs on what sets they consider valuable. This (...) (23 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Lego Grab Bags

(...) My 2002 catalog hasn't arrived yet. Can someone tell me what the item number is? Is this an item you can place online as well? Thanks, Vui (23 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Lego Grab Bags

I just received an order from Shop @ Home with a Lego Grab Bag. I got a Luke Skywalker/Rebel Pilot keychain (3914), a Res-Q Runner (1097), Ninja Knights (4805) and Goal Keeper (3413). Not bad for 7.99. My Darth Vader keychain is looking pretty worn, (...) (23 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: discounts are great but.....

(...) Yeah, maybe... I can't begin to understand why other people speculating and posting about seasonal discounts would bother you. Simply don't read those messages if they offend you so. FWIW, there is a big difference between buying some sets at (...) (23 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  discounts are great but.....

Discounts on Lego sets are great, but all of you keep talking about the same sets over and over again. Obviously that is all that there is going to be. We can not ask for more. For the simple reason that there are no more. This is it. If you really (...) (23 years ago, 12-Jan-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: 2nd Round of Target Sales Begins!

The Concord, NH Target still has 4561's at $99.99 and not in the clearance section. Seven of them disappeared one night, so I think they might have been returned to Lego or something. I am most disappointed, as I fully intended to scoop them up at (...) (23 years ago, 12-Jan-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Sale Items at Dawsonville Outlet Store

(...) Ahhh, but now that they've been pillaged for the motors, doesn't that make them collectable ? <g> Seriously, I noted a TRU that found several cases of these in a back store room.   Re: Walmart Clearance?

The part about the red paint is true, at least it was for Toys R Us when I used to dumpster dive. And don't think they toss it out by opening the boxes and tossing the sealed bags, so that even if there's paint spalshed on you can salvage some of (...)
