Re: Stupid: Bought an Open Box

(...) *grin* I just got a 6456 Mission Control that I found on a Fred Meyer clearance table for US$80 clearanced at 50% off. It had been opened, and about 33% of the pieces were missing... but it had some pink 2x10 plates, and some (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Stupid: Bought an Open Box

(...) Consumer Affairs will ask you if it was clearanced. Just be frank with them, and if they want to charge you then you can decide if it is worth it. Customer satisfaction is usually more important to them than assigning blame for the missing (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Stupid: Bought an Open Box

(...) My suggestion is this...call and ask. I'm sure they'll be able to tell you official TLC policy on this. If they say they'll replace it in any case then your conscience is clear, otherwise you'll know better next time. You'd be amazed how (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Stupid: Bought an Open Box

(...) Thanx Mark. I caught a thread along this line in the Star Wars group, where somebody was missing a Boba Fett from an opened Slave I set. The issue came up of whether LEGO should be replacing the parts free of charge. In cases of missing parts (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Stupid: Bought an Open Box

G'day folks, My first LUGNET post here actually..., aside from the great thread I had going with myself over in /TEST :] I only got back into this buying LEGO thing recently after a lapse of sanity of about 15 years..., what was I thinking??! :] (...)   Re: Clearance price-matching (was Re: Last round of Target markdowns?)

(...) 'Fess up, Doug. Did you take all 10 of the 4561's that were at $78 for weeks and weeks and weeks at the Galleria Target, the morning they went to $32.44? BTW, Don't bother going to the Target in Baytown. I obliged the inventory crew by helping (...) (25 years ago, 28-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: VAT reduction from the Entertainer? (thetoyshop.com)

When I got my order (from the Entertainer), it too had gone through US Customs, but I didn't get charged $40. Pretty weird to see the customs tape on some of the boxes. (They opened the cases they were packed in, but not the sets.) Mike Poindexter (...) (25 years ago, 28-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  anyone need tech pieces?

I have a bunch of tech pieces that go back about five years and I never use them. I'm looking to trade or sell them. I have various gears, axles, pegs (black and gray), pistons (including the old 2x2 ones), 1x4 plates with gear teeth and much more. (...) (25 years ago, 28-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: VAT reduction from the Entertainer? (thetoyshop.com)

Eric Just caught your message. I ordered the shuttle from them before Xmas and before ZB discounted them :-(. Anyway, yes they removed the VAT, but be careful, because the way they shipped my shuttles, it went to New York and thru customs. No duty, (...) (25 years ago, 28-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Do you need plates or/and 1x? bricks?

They are useful to some but not to me. I use the stock buffer and magnet holder in most all of my designs. The few places where I don't (the nose of big red, for example), I have enough. John Neal might be interested in them, though. (25 years ago, 27-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Do you need plates or/and 1x? bricks?

Larry, Are the magnet assemblies that come with some of the Insectoids sets useful in train work ? I've noticed that 'Cosmic Creeper' has dropped to about $3 at some WMs. Ray (...) (25 years ago, 27-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Do you need plates or/and 1x? bricks?

(...) I agree with this. I was able to come up with around $80 of stuff without too much trouble. (And it's nice to know the pieces are going into the custom hoppers!) Larry's wants page is at: (URL) McCarthy/ (25 years ago, 27-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Do you need plates or/and 1x? bricks?

(...) I'm interested in buying these, my wants page has my prices. But it's not economical for me to buy them at auction, too much time spent on it, as the quantities I want are large, and managing 20 lots of 10 pieces each isn't worth the bother. (...)
