Re: My Toys R Us Nightmare

(...) The you have a legal case - but by the time all is said and done, it won't have been worth it. Don't ask for a refund: demand the item back. Be prepared with a police report. If they won't budge, my advice is to move on. It's a minor item. (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: My Toys R Us Nightmare

(...) I am glad to hear that, as I thought the dumbass spilt it on herself, but it was still "frivolous" regardless of how much she got. She should have been jailed for wasting court time and required to pay all of McDonalds' legal fees. Timbo (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: My Toys R Us Nightmare

(...) Most stores are pretty flexible on returns because many people want to be able to return gifts. How do you propose that be allowed? The illegality of buying stolen goods is an interesting one. If it is clear that the goods are stolen, I can (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: My Toys R Us Nightmare

(...) While I and the other vocal on-lookers don't see any wrongdoing on the part of TRU, I'd bet any judge in Michigan would find for you on this one. Their track records seem to imply that they have some sort of agenda against corporations. Not (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: My Toys R Us Nightmare

(...) I have already done that. But buying stolen goods is not legal and reselling them is even worse. It doesn't matter if they "know" or not. The reason they should check ID is so that they verify the person who they are giving the refund to is (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: My Toys R Us Nightmare

(...) The beauty of the coffee lawsuit is that you _know_ that same person would have brought the coffee back if it was just a little too cold! Dave! (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: My Toys R Us Nightmare

(...) This is a very good point. Many stores don't even require a reciept any more. One somewhat funny story I have is of a warehouse worker at a company that I used to work for got caught stealing some relatively expensive consumer product. The (...) (...) I'm not sure that you are blowing this entirely out of proportion, but file a police report and demand the return of the stolen item. That's about as far as you can go with it. Bruce (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: My Toys R Us Nightmare

(...) Are you serious? That's not as ridiculous as suing McDonald's for spilling coffee in your own lap but is still pretty out there, IMO. Yes, they screwed up.   Re: My Toys R Us Nightmare

No offnse, but how was TRU supposed to know the item they were refunding was stolen? I agree that it sucks you were robbed, and I hope you find the culprit, but I don't understand why TRU should lose money in the deal. That is what you wanted (...)   My Toys R Us Nightmare

A couple of months ago I bought some Lego from Toys R Us. Later that afternoon some sleazebag broke the window of my car and stole it. (They broke a $165.00 window to get $15.00 worth of Lego, the asshole) Anyway, what is even worse is, since it was (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Rite Aid Sale

I remembered that the old Payless (now Rite Aid) used to have some good clearance prices on Lego so I checked out one last night. I found a %75 off section and got 3 X-Team value packs at $3.25 each (They might have raised the "retail" pricetag (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)
