Re: BrickBank ! (was Re: BrickBay Enhancement )

(...) BAYLIT - (for my part) I'll be short and to the point. Brickbay is great, but it still doesn't answer the needs most builders have for volume parts. Maybe LEGO Direct will, but I still have my doubts. They're out to increase profits. Case in (...) (24 years ago, 7-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.services)

(...) You can save on time by buying "bulk"...I typically get US stamps (which are really just ordinary stamps, but $0.55 worth instead of $0.46) in multiples of 10, and only need to pick them up once or twice a year; most drugstores have them. I (...) (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.services)

(...) suppose we'd see take place. I know the hour I wasted yesterday getting US$ and stamps hinders me from buying more LEGO on-line. I wouldn't be surprised if non-USA went from 1/5 to 1/2 if we could get free-trade. (Hmmm - NAFTA for LEGO - LFTA (...) (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.services)

(...) Exactly - Sending money once to create a positive balance would be MUCH more efficient, and that doesn't even take into account the initail reason I had this idea - conversion to US funds for those of us outside the USA In (...) (24 years ago, 5-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.services)

Re: BrickBank ! (was Re: BrickBay Enhancement )

(...) The chance of Brickbay moving to Lugnet is unlikely because Lugnet runs on a Unix server [1] while Brickbay runs on NT server. What I'd like to know is what it would take to get other Lego businesses (for example BAYLIT) to move to Brickbay. (...) (24 years ago, 3-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.services)

In lugnet.market.services, Steve Chapple writes: <brickBank!> I like the idea. Let's say 100 people submit 1 order from each of 100 shops = 10,000 orders (or 10,000 payments being sent back and forth). Each buyer sending 100 checks, each seller (...)   Re: BrickBank ! (was Re: BrickBay Enhancement )

(...) Indeed. That is *the* sticky point. I have dodged it by keeping things pretty informal, it's just a circle of friends, really. Be careful what questions you ask of whom, though, unless you are prepared to accept the answers you get. And that's (...) (24 years ago, 1-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.services)

In lugnet.market.services, Steve Chapple writes: <brickBank!> I gotta run, I will respond in depth later, but yes, in principle this idea has a great deal of merit. It is encompassed by the Lugnet Manifesto so it's theoretically coming to here. But (...) (24 years ago, 1-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.services)
