So, was it a bad thing for me to point this out to these people?  The
seller is obviously pissed, but after looking at the auction listing
again I'm not sure I care.

Not a bad thing at all. It is this type of person that will make the
Star Wars Lego a bit of a nightmare, buying them all up, offering to
sell them to us for ridiculously hyper-inflated prices. This very
auctioneer was probably one of those types, testing the market!

Job well done.

I guess discussions of auctions can happen here, right? Well, check out this url: (URL) 1807 for $5.50 PLUS shipping! I e-mailed all of the bidders (and the seller) involved a very polite message and let them know that should they want any more (...) (26 years ago, 11-Oct-98, to lugnet.market.auction)
