  Re: Carlsbad still crowded?

It did happen. Legoland did have to close for about two hours last week because the park had reached capacity of 15,000. The weather here in Southern CA has been rather crappy(lots of rain and clouds) for those on spring break and that was the only (...)   ba-lego mailing list?

Is the ba-lego mailing list still operational? It has some functionality, because it properly forwarded to this board a message I sent to the mailing list, but I never received a mailed copy of the message. Does anyone know the status on the list? (...) (25 years ago, 14-Apr-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Re: Star Wars sets

I have heard that the LEGOLAND Store doesn't have the Star Wars models either, and S@H is quoting that they don't expect to have any until May sometime. This sure lends credence to the rumor that the models were released too early, and that they (...) (25 years ago, 13-Apr-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Re: Carlsbad still crowded?

There were radio reports earlier this week that people were being turned away from the park because of crowding. I have this second hand. Didn't hear the report myself. John C (25 years ago, 10-Apr-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sd, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.general)

Re: LA Area Robot-Arena competition may Not happen...

(...) I prefer the objective oriented competitions. Maze solvers, find a can and bring it back. That sort of thing. The RCX hasn't been out long enough for folk to have mastered the art of agression on one I think. Also, it has been suggested around (...)   LA Area Robot-Arena competition may Not happen...

I had originally posted (about 1 month ago) that I would be willing to set up an informal Robot-Arena style competition in the LA Area for March 17th 1999. Haven't gotten much responses/entries....Actually, got only one response from someone who (...)   Re: Star Wars in the Bay Area

(...) I was at a Target here in the east bay the other day and they had a sticker on the shelf for landspeeders, but alas, and of course, there weren't any. I thought maybe they were getting ready to set them out but the next day I returned and the (...) (25 years ago, 8-Apr-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

Star Wars in the Bay Area

I don't know if everyone has already been able to find the SW sets around here yet, but I thought I'd mention that I was at the Serramonte Target the other day, and while they didn't have the sets, they did have the aisle tags up for all 4 of the (...)   Re: Carlsbad still crowded?

(...) to (...) John - I was in California recently on a business trip and stopped by Legoland on Marsh 26th, soon after the grand opening. Even though it was a miserable, rainy day, I was shocked at the number of people still visiting the park. (...) (25 years ago, 8-Apr-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sd, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.general)

  Followup: BayLUG.org is on-line

Since the naming thread didn't get copied to the San Jose list, I wanted to post a followup message. The name BayLUG.org was chosen, and the website was launched 3/2/99. We have a tentative graphic in place, and we are still looking for feedback (...) (25 years ago, 7-Apr-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf.sj)

  LegoLand Driver's license

If anyone is going to LegoLand sometime soon, and would be willing to snag an extra blank driver's license, I'd be ever so grateful. We seem to have misplaced Nik's and it is causing all sorts of havoc on the home front. I'd be willing to pay a (...)   Carlsbad still crowded?

Now that the Grand Opening is over and things are settling down, I would like to take my family to Legoland in Carlsbad. However, I am worried that large crowds will ruin the Legoland experience for my 4 and 6 year old children. Can anyone tell me (...)   Re: thank you for coming

Hi Raymond, Did you take any pictures in the park? Are you going to scan and post any of them? Can we point to your pictures from BayLUG.org? (Would you care to have them hosted on the baylug site? Do you want to put your LEGO page(s) there? Where (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Oh yeah, the videotape...

Like I said in my earlier blurbs, I shot a fair bit of video at the park, and a bit more at the LEGOfest afterwards. (Tom Stangle: I may have even caught you up the kid-power tower in the morning...or your evil twin! ;-) It's a bit more than an (...) (26 years ago, 30-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Re: LEGOLAND pictures

(...) Thanks to the people who reported broken links. Image 16 and 23 work now. I will rescan image 28 when I get a new scanner. Russell (26 years ago, 30-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sd, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Re: Trip Reports?

(...) I was told this by a park employee, but when I asked at the Big Shop, I was given the number to customer service. I asked again as we left, but the lady at the entrance had not heard of this. Russell (26 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sd, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Trip Report

Tom's friend Brian posted a very long and detailed one to RTL. perhaps he can be persuaded to repost it here? I thought it was excellent. And that's just not because my name was mentioned, either. (26 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sd)

  Re: Trip Reports?

(...) I asked about this at the Big Store, and understandably, they wondered if I had been drinking (at least, that's what their faces looked like). If this IS true, I WANT DETAILS! There are many smaller models I'd like to build. -- | Tom Stangl, (...) (26 years ago, 29-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sd)

  Re: Trip Reports?

(...) OK, ok! Sheesh, I've got lots of new Star Wars models to build before I get back to web pages! ;-) So, in brief; We had a great time, despite the rain and ind and cold at noontime.   LEGOLAND pictures

My scanner has apparently taken a dump on me this weekend. I have uploaded the pictures that I got scanned. (URL) don't have an index or descriptions yet, but they will be up when the rest of my pictures are scanned and uploaded.
