Re: OT: Quick homework help :-)

(...) Which is the closest to my latitude (41º N) so far :-) (...) That would certainly be a great help, Deidre - thank you! But please take your time - I only need this for next week, I suppose in the meanwhile the weather will improve for one (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-02, to lugnet.loc.pt)

Hi Pedro, Not sure if you've got all the info you need now, but I'm in Tasmania (-42deg58'). I don't often see sunrise as I have a baby that doesn't go to sleep until around midnight and sunrise today was 0532 daylight savings time, I need much more (...)   Re: Próximo plugfest no museu do brinquedo?

(...) Yup. (...) O facto de ser perto de Lisboa é bom. É mais do que justo que seja lá, cá em cima já houve 2 encontros. (...) Podes contar comigo, se for em Março (a priori, não tenho nada marcado) (...) A parte do e-mail: eles não respondem. (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-02, to lugnet.loc.pt)

Re: OT: Quick homework help :-)

(...) Hi Pedro, I live in the Sydney region, approx 33degrees south. I really notice the differnece in angle of the sun from winter to summer. I am fortunate in having a north-facing verandah where i often enjoy breakfast and dinner, anyway (enough (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-02, to lugnet.loc.pt)

Re: OT: Quick homework help :-)

(...) Ok, so this confirms our suppositions. Is this noticeable, though? I mean, if you live, say, at 25ºS, would you notice the slight "Southwise" angle during sunrise? (...) Remember, sunset works just as well! (I don't get to see sunrise as well, (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-02, to lugnet.loc.pt)

Re: OT: Quick homework help :-)

(...) Hey, I don't complain. Thank god for today's South gales, otherwise the beaches near me would be filled with oil... :-/ (...) Tasmania would be the closest to my own latitude (only South), but anywhere in the south of Oz is perfect. (...) (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-02, to lugnet.loc.pt)

Re: OT: Quick homework help :-)

(...) Well here's the theory: Earth's axis is tilted 23.5º from the solar plane, which for this discussion means any city above -23.5 latitude may see sunrise at >90º in summer (and similarly sunset <270º). Thus Darwin, Townsville, Cairns and (...) (22 years ago, 20-Nov-02, to lugnet.loc.pt)
