Sorry, replying to myself again...
According to the Customs Notices on the Canada Border website, all provinces
should be charging GST+PST, or HST, for all imported toys. That includes
B.C., by the way. ;] None of the provinces have an exemption program in
place for toys. So regardless of which province you are in, S@H should be
charging you for the full amount of taxes. In cases where they haven't,
it should be getting caught at the border when Canada Post imports it.
(However, in many cases I've seen, taxes won't be added at the border for
toys, especially if the value is low enough---I think many Customs workers
have a heart.)
If people in B.C. are not getting charged PST, then that's a pretty lucky
situation. More power to you, but I'm jealous! :]
