Re: Lego World Club Magazine No. 2 - 2002

(...) Hi Mel, I've been here, just in drive-by-lurk mode :^0 I have mainly been busy with the World Cup and following a murder trial in San Diego. So my hands have been mouse-only.....must start typing again. Glad to hear Lug'oz went well. Maybe we (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

"pete white" <aquanaut@optusnet.com.au> wrote in message news:GxzBA5.7xG@lugnet.com... (...) ACT'ers. (...) I for one think that Canberra would be a _fantastic_ place for a LugOz meeting. What a great idea! Imagine that, an actual reason to go to (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Lego World Club Magazine No. 2 - 2002

(...) Indeed. Worth every cent! (Actually, I think I've technically paid for mine, because I paid for two years c. two years ago, but have been told that may payment would cover the year AFTER the free year... or something... it's very confusing) (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Lego World Club Magazine No. 2 - 2002

(...) They are temporary tattoos (from reading the little leaflet). Do they work as just stickers? Haven't tried either way :) Deidre drb@tasmail.com (22 years ago, 21-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Lego World Club Magazine No. 2 - 2002

(...) And since their MOC page includes the Megabloks set Blue Thunder, maybe I should send also a few Shifty sets as well :-) Kerry (22 years ago, 21-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Lego World Club Magazine No. 2 - 2002

(...) Hmmm... Mel was complaining about the cold in Brisbane on the long weekend... imagine Mel in Canberra in June! Still, I'd be strongly in favour of Canberra for a national meet. Cheers Richie (22 years ago, 22-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Lego World Club Magazine No. 2 - 2002

(...) Well, if we choose a long weekend, we can probably fit in both activities :-) (...) Yes, but presumably our next OzFest won't be held for a least a few months, which will give Canberra time to warm-up. The other problem is the need for someone (...) If anybody is seriously interested, let me know and I'll see what venue I can arrange etc. Ian (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Lego World Club Magazine No. 2 - 2002

(...) It sounds like there is genuine interest. I guess the next question is the time frame. Traditionally (if we've been doing it long enough to have a tradition) we've used long weekends, as that lets people coming by car from further afield (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

The next LUG'OZ (was Re: Lego World Club Magazine No. 2 - 2002)

(...) Count me in. (...) I guess not so important for Sydney people, because it's a relatively short drive...(or train or bus ride) but then, I'd be taking the family and making a long weekend of it anyway. (Note that Canberra is easy to get around, (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

Next LUGOZ National Meet - (was Re: LWC Mag No. 2 02)

(...) I guess anywhere away from home is always interesting :) (...) Nope, there's not. (...) I would have thought making the LUGOZ 200? thing a yearly gathering, a better idea and something to look forward too... I'm sure not all of us could afford (...)   Re: Next LUGOZ National Meet - (was Re: LWC Mag No. 2 02)

(...) As it happens, The Australia day weekend is when a major games convention is held in Canberra. Hundreds of players (mainly miniatures- ancients/warhammer/napoleonics etc - with a massive 24hr LAN shootem up-and usually some role-players though (...)   Re: Next LUGOZ National Meet - (was Re: LWC Mag No. 2 02)

(...) Sounds like a good idea...and the Australia day weekend is one of the few public holidays held on the same date in all states [as opposed to the Queens birthday, labour day, Melbourne cup, etc.] and that isn't generally a family type weekend (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Next National Meet

(...) Annualish does kinda make sense to me too. We had two last year, and that seemed like too many. We've had one this year and it seemed to be a treat. And the long weekend, while its a bit of a drag from a traffic, tourists and double demerits (...) (22 years ago, 25-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Next National Meet

(...) Which is why I choose to fly Qantas ;-) Much of the damage to the Snottler on the SYD-BNE trip was apparently from crushing (I'd packed it very tightly in the bag, and then the baggage handlers had packed the bag even more tightly...), and (...) (22 years ago, 25-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Next National Meet

(...) Hmmm. I also chose Qantas (they had the cheapest fares when I booked!) and still suffered minor damage, even though my stuff was packed in a large box with packing foam, which was then packed inside a suitcase, surrounded by clothing! There's (...) (22 years ago, 25-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Next National Meet

(...) Maybe there is... When I flew up to Brisbane, I was on the same flight as the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Their 'cellos get a seat each. And a special 'cello seatbelt each. Now a 'cello is definitely outside the carry-on guidelines... maybe (...) (22 years ago, 25-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au)
